This block has everything you need in a kitchen. The knives are made from German Special Formula Steel, also forged from one piece of steel so durable for a lifetime. They are also ice hardened so blade will start sharper and stay sharper longer than other knives. The handles are comfortable and lightweight, a nice option compared to other heavy handle knives.

This set is an excellent value for the money; but, it is not the same quality as the other J.A. Henckels knives. The blades are delightfully sharp but the handles are very light weight.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great assortment

Did my homework, and decided on purchasing the Four Star set and glad I did. Love the assortment of knives in the collection. Now have a knife for every task in the kitchen. Love the prep knife, use it instead of the chef knife for smaller jobs.
The price is awesome for a German made knife with a lifetime warranty. Love that there are additional knives I can purchase such as the boning and the fillet knives which I use occassionally but will be adding in the future.
The molded handle and the 3/4 tang makes the knife a little lighter than the rivited knives with full tang, but still just as durable. The special formula steel they use keeps the knife really sharp and is easy to maintain. Finally learned how to correctly use the included honing steel which really keeps the knife sharp. Can't say enough about these knives!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just opened my new Zwilling knives, the were a gift from my in laws for my birthday. WOW! They are amazing! I didn’t realize how poorly my other knives were working until I tried these. So quick and clean!
