My first Staub Dutch Oven

I absolutely love my Staub Dutch oven in Basil with the brass top — it’s quickly become one of my most used and admired pieces of cookware. Right from the start, the basil green color paired with the brass knob gives it such a beautiful, timeless look — it’s almost too pretty to put away but also perfect for serving straight at the table.
What really impresses me is how well this pot performs in the kitchen. The enameled cast iron construction heats evenly and retains heat beautifully, so everything from slow-braised meats to hearty stews and soups comes out rich and tender every time. The tight-fitting lid with self-basting design helps lock in moisture and flavor — I always notice juicier, more flavorful results compared to other pots I’ve used. 
Cleanup is a breeze too — the enamel interior resists sticking and staining better than I expected, and while hand-washing keeps it looking its best, it’s forgiving enough for everyday use. What started as a splurge has honestly become a kitchen essential. If you love cookware that looks gorgeous and performs brilliantly every time you cook, this Staub is worth every penny. Highly recommended!

Perfect all around size.

I love the Basil color, it looks great with my Cerise 5qt Le Creuset braiser (Staub needs to make a large one). The build is excellent this will last me my whole life, the black interior is favored so I/m not fighting stains that don't matter but annoy me. Its the perfect size for a single meal, I will need to get a larger one 7-9 qt for bigger crowds of course. Looking forward to many years with this piece of functional art.
