Think party size crowds when using this cocotte. Browns nicely, and the tight fitting lid with self basting spikes create tasty, tender stews, soups, chilis quicker than using a normal dutch oven. Easy maintenance.
This is one serious cocotte. You can sear meat, simmer a sauce, make a stew, roast vegetables, fry chicken, boil potatoes, bake a dessert, and everything in between! It has self-basting spikes on the interior of the lid which collect and return all moisture back into dish creating the most flavorful meal you can think of.
These round cocottes come in a variety of sizes, all of which roast, boil, bake, fry, braise and simmer to the highest possible standards. Cast iron cooking has been around for millennia and there is a reason. It is the ultimate for low slow cooking. Put the pot on the fire come back hours later and the food is done.
So if you like cast iron comforting reliability of cast iron cooking then why not have a pot in every side. Cooking for 1, or 2, or 3 or 20, its all so easy in Staub's beautifully crafted pots. The workmanship and the quality of the cast iron ensure that the heat is directed to the food. The fine enamel finish - inside and out - make for attractive presentation at the table, and easy clean up afterwards. Enjoy each size as you use them. I do.
If you squint, it looks like a cocotte from 1899! However, with modern upgrades. Enameled everywhere for much easier cleaning...nobs beneath lid aid in even moisturizing. Cool gold nob atop.
I love this big, beautiful traditional-looking cocotte. The matte black makes it look just like an original cast iron, but it is enameled so you do not have to season this piece. Great to cook for large family gatherings and cooks beautifully.
Love this size dutch oven, plenty of room for a full sized pot roast and all the fixings. I love that there is enough clearance on the top to allow the basting spikes to do their job on the top of the roast. It doesn't dry out at all. The black enamel gives such a traditional look but as easy to maintain as any other color.
Cooking for a crowd or large batches of Sunday sauce is perfect in the 7qt. I use this cocotte frequetly for family gatherings be it indoors at the table or outside for family BBQs. Need extra room on your stove during gatherings, just place this directly on the BBQ and you have saved valuable space for more delicate dishes inside. BBQ beans, crab boil, large batch chili, this is up for the task. I don't know what I would do without it!
Black matte works for every kitchen, either stainless steel or modern designed. Staub cast iron pots saves you another dish, you can serve your delicious dish straight to your table. The innovative lid features tiny spikes on the interior that continually release condensed liquid back onto the food, yielding moist, flavorful results. I also bought a staub trivet to protect my table from direct heat, it add another beautiful thing at your dinner table.
