German forged blades with long lasting edge retention. Set includes essential knives in the form of chef, serrated utility, and paring, to complete most all cutting tasks in the kitchen. Comfortable molded handles and great balance for effortless cutting.

This Four Star 3 piece set has a serrated, paring and chef's knife that truly are the "essentials" that you need for a starter set. They're ice-hardened so the blade is super strong and very sharp. Such a comfortable handle and will buy additional Four Star knives because of the Zwilling made in Germany quality.

A perfect starter set, it contains the top three knives that every kitchen should have - a 8" chefs knife, a serrated bland and a paring knife. Four Star knives are made from German Special Formula Steel, also forged from one piece of steel so durable for a lifetime. The blades are ice hardened so the blades start sharp and stay sharper for a longer period of time. The handle is comfortable and lightweight, a nice option compared to other heavy handle knives.

This starter set is perfect for a wedding, shower or house warming gift. Has everything a new chef will need to get started cooking! Four Star is a classic! On the market since the 1970's this knife has stood the test of time and still looks fresh and relevant. The molded handle feels secure and fits nicely into the hand. The balance is great and the edge stays sharp due to the ice-hardening process.

Excellent essential gifting set!

These are 3pc. essential to have, an ideal gift set for any occasion and a traveling set for a cook who loves to travel with their knife set. Handwashing is recommended because of the dishwasher's abrasiveness may harm your knives and dull the blade. The dishwasher will scratch, chip, dull, stain, and otherwise damage your knives. This will lead to a once-beautiful knife looking worn and aged. One cycle can chip the blade or snap it in two. Then there’s the detergents, which can be just as dangerous as the machine itself, causing knives to dull or discolor. Also it is personal safety including your fingers when you’re unloading and loading, it is easy to reach for young children who may be in danger reaching their favorite spoon in the dishwasher. These have a lifetime limited warranty for any manufacturer's defects.

This set is the best combination of knife shapes and sizes. These three knives are all you need to make a terrific meal. And given their quality, they will be all you need until you decide to take a deeper dive into cooking and prepping. The chef's knife will do most of the work. The serrated knife takes on the task of slicing crusty breads and tender tomatoes - anything with a tough skin and soft interior. And the paring knife, it cores and peels.
There’s a reason the Four Star line has been a part of Zwilling’s lineup forever. It was designed with professionals in mind, so the focus was on safety, comfort and durability. The ‘grippy’ polypropylene handle is proportionate to the blade and the work - therefore no excess weight. The blade steel and method of construction is proprietary and at the forefront of technology. The blade can both take a beating and hold an edge, ideal for daily use and hard work.
Although dishwasher safe, all knives perform and look better if they are hand washed. I’ve had a Four Star in my collection for decades. And it still looks almost new.
