I am using this knife now replacing my pro chef that has the deeper curve on the blade. My daughter borrowed my usual chef knife so I decided to try this one. I really like how it moves on the cutting board! I have always loved the Zwilling Pro series with the gently curved bolster and the balanced handle but this traditional chef is a nice step up for my cutting skills, its a smoother movement than I was used to but is just as efficient if not more so. Best knives on the planet!
Once you use this knife you'll want no other! The curved bolster is the hallmark of the Zwilling Pro series and it is the most comfortable forged bolster for the pinch grip. The weight of the handle and the blade is perfect...you are able to easily glide through any cutting job with this knife. It is extremely sharp and maintains it sharpness with regular honing. Only needs professional sharpening once a year depending on use!
This is certainly a traditional chef knife. It is not as curved as a modern chef knife. This one is more like a santoku with a slight curve. That being said, it can be used for anything in the kitchen. I love using this knife, the ease of the blade and the handle make cutting a seamless process.
If you are looking for a reliable, sturdy and comfortable German Chef knife, this is the ONE! The Pro series is top-notch with the newer curved bolster and riveted handle. Works well for every job in the kitchen. Have been using this one for some time and it is my go-to knife for just about everything. Good price considering how much you will use this one.
The traditional chef knife is a little narrower and less round than the Pro Chef. It makes it a little easier to perform some tasks while still having the amazing curved bolster. This is the workhorse knife that you will use every day, it will stay sharp and you will never have to replace it.
The difference between the 8” Chef knife and this traditional 8” Chef knife is that this knife is narrower. And I actually prefer this knife over the other because of that fact. I break down a lot of large cuts of meat and can manage maneuvering around to get the cuts I’m looking for.
This narrow version of a Pro 8" chef is perfect for anyone who's not into wide knife. Not so small or not so big on their hand, at the same time you'll have perfect control for it's pinch grip knife. Comfortable, balanced size will quickly become the go-to knife for everyday tasks. It's the most easiest to sharpen for it's half bolster, nothing gets in the way no matter what you sharpened it either stone or machine.
