The OtterBox Lightning cable is an excellent design for long service life to the customer. The cable is strong at the ends where most of the pressure is exerted loading the cable into and out of wall sockets.

I purchased my first on while I was in Afghanistan & it has lasted me through that deployment & halfway through the current one. I only had to purchase a nee one b/c of personal negligence (left my IPad on the edge of my bed & it just happened to fall the right way smh). The length is perfect. I can sit/lay comfortably in my bed & charge it.

Overall a very high quality cable. The terminations are lower profile allowing easier fit to the lightning port in most all cases. The flexible boot will certainly best any stock cable from fraying or exposed conductors and the jacket appears very durable. I knocked one star because I would like the wire to be more flexible.

Otterbox makes great cases too. But all that protection comes from heavy duty armor that gets in the way of most charging cables. This cable has definitely taken the fitment issue into consideration. No problem what-so-ever. I would have given 5 stars for a right angle connector on the device end of the charging cable. The straight end is somewhat awkward when using the device while charging. This cable works great for both my iPhone and iPad which are both protected by Otterbox cases.
