4 Stars because of cheap tabs on hose .Where it hooks to to window panel . One broke already in 3 months. Very poor design. And not a air tight fit when hose attached to window panel. Same thing happened to my friend. After I told him to buy this unit. Is it possible to get a replacement on the end of the hose.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Worked fine the first year, but hasn't worked at all the second year. The compressor doesn't even come on. I got about 4months worth of use out of it. I guess it works as a really bulky fan.

Works Great on a Generator

Got this unit to use during an unexpected Blackout in a heatwave.. it works Great on my little portable Generator.. doesnt overload it on startup.. now one of my 3 Central air units is Down and parts are no longer available.. this Unit is stepping up like a Champ cooling off the whole greatroom, foyer, and kitchen of my house just as quick as the broken unit did when it worked! I also got it to use in my mobile office bus when im parked and working..(the bus A/C only works when driving) only downfall is this unit is very heavy to try and lift to take it down the basement for storage, I wish it had like a better handle for taking down and up steps. definitely recommend it its quiet enough to use in a bedroom.. and with it being inverter it doesnt clunk on and off all the time it slows down and speeds up softly..
I would recommend this to a friend!

Can't run unit on a circuit with a GFCI output

I purchased this unit for an apartment and found it kept tripping a GFCI outlet on the same circuit either immediately or when the compressor tried to turn on. Support tells me that since it has a GFCI in the plug (not sure it's really GFCI, may be LCDI), that it will always trip a GFCI outlet if there's one on the circuit. All circuits have one in the apartment so this unit is unusable.

Leaks

I have had this product a little over 2 years, and use it for only a couple weeks each summer. It has started leaking out of the bottom; I empty the drain container before each use, but that hasn't solved the problem. The only thing I received from Midea customer service is a note that the warranty has expired and to drain the container. I gave it 2 stars because it worked fine for the 8 weeks that I actually used it ...

Sounds like when you put baseball cards in the spokes of your bike as a kid. Was purchased because it was advertised as being quiet, It's not! It is placed in a bedroom and when it cycles, here come the baseball card noise.

Brand new unit makes horrific vibration noise when cooling

I was excited to receive this AC as it is highly recommended. But the first time I used it (and every time I've restarted it thereafter), it makes a deafening and horrifying vibrating noise when on cool mode. This is extremely disappointing as now the AC is just an insanely expensive fan. I cannot recommend this product. Obviously quality control measures are lacking.
