Something To Keep In Mind

I’ll be the odd one out of the bunch. This device was recommended by my psychiatrist for ptsd attacks. She recommended this because she’s seen a few of her own patients use the Embr temperatures “bring them back” to reality and to snap out of it. I was sent the try out for free however I will be sending it back. First off the device does indeed get nicely cool and hot. For comparison I would compare the cold to an ice cube and the hot to something more of a hot shower. The biggest down for me is that you only feel cold on your arm. It’s advertised that it’s to be put on your arm in a place that the heat or cold will cause your body temperature to either go up or go down, I have felt neither. I think it’s important to note that this is waves of temperature. It will go from cold to neutral (as a pattern) or hot to neutral. It’s never a continuing feeling of cold or hot which I don’t find to be effective. If there was an option to not make it go in waves I think that it might work more efficiently but this isn’t the device for me. I couldn’t see how waves of cold could knock me out of an attack and it helping my stress. I’ve been actually more stressed from not getting relief from this product. Maybe they will improve it in the near future but as of now I cannot recommend.

Embr Wave cools or warms in, well, waves since our bodies respond more strongly to changes in temperature vs. steady temperature—think of how quickly a cold pool stops feeling cold after you’ve been in it for a minute or two. Cooling or warming in a pattern keeps your body from acclimating to the sensation over the course of a session, so you can get more effective relief that lasts longer. We know that temperature is personal, though, and what feels really good for one person might not feel as good for someone else. If you didn’t feel the Wave was helpful for your PTSD, we hope that you’re able to find something that works better for what you need!

Love it! I’m surprised how well it works. Customer service is great. My band broke and within minutes of contacting them a new one was in the mail. The unit does seem to get warm, when running continuously. I definitely recommend for anyone with hot flashes. I still get hot flashes but it takes the crazy rip your clothes /blankets off frustration away. can’t wait for an upgrade to make the unit slimmer.
