I haven't had my immersion blender very long, but it worked very well when I needed to deal with some fibrous squash. My Smart Stick did a great job getting rid of the "strings" in the squash.

I replaced my old cuisinart stick blender after it finally died. Had it a least 10 years. Love this one EXCEPT I’m not a fan of the safety lock. It’s awkward when you are stopping and starting when blending. You have to release the start button with the unlock button each time. I wish there was a way to disable it.

I bought this for the longer shaft on it. Works very well. The only negative to it is that there is a safety feature that makes you push one button at the same time as pushing another one. If you are doing multiple short bursts or pulses it can get pretty tedious.

I love my Smart Stick. My only complaint is the safety button. It took a couple of times to become perfection with safety when using. They may want to rethink the safety design. Never had a Cuisinart product that didn't last a long time.

Having to press both the Power button and the other button at the same time to start the stick is not only uncomfortable but also dangerous bkz 2 hands are really needed to press both buttons at once and the force with which the Stick jumps into action makes the mixing bowl slide out from under the Stick or just start spinning before you can hold it down with one of your hands once the Power button is no longer needed. Short of using a concrete grade weighted bowl, I could think of no safe solution to this setup. So I returned the product. Disappointed but knowing it was a dangerous tool.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
