Once I finally realized you had to press both the Lock and the On button at the same time, not separately, I found I was far more pleased with this blender

I treated myself to this thinking it would make pureeing soups easier, but it's actually not! I think a blender works much better! It takes a long time to get everything blended!

I love the blender and didn't even think about the fact that it is metal. It is a great blender (so far) but when I was washing the pan, I realized that it had scratched up the bottom of the pan. Seems like there needs to be a plastic or silicon bumper on the bottom to prevent scratches.
