I have been making soups and needed an immersion blender to puree some of them. I have a Cuisinart food processor and love it. This hand blender does a great job but do watch you use it for no longer than a minute at a time so you don't burn out the motor. I do like the long shaft so you can blend a big pot of soup.

this is the MOST convenient item in my cabinet! It's just so easy to cream soups and I also use it to mix batter for popovers. So much easier to clean than the blender and all its pieces. A must have!
