[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The good points: Both tank removals are much easier than undoing latches or pulling a lever on older models (but I wonder if this quick release will be a failure point in the future that will cause leaks). The suction sleeve is easily removed and replaced without the need for a screwdriver. The suction is slightly better than previous models as it pulls almost as much water out of the carpet as is sprayed into it. Overall the unit is much lighter than previous iterations because of the use of a lot more plastic, but it doesn't feel cheap or poorly made. The bad points: The HeatForce feature is nice in theory, but the carpet was only slightly dryer than when using a 2nd gen Hoover cleaner. No onboard tool storage, a small pouch with a hanger is provided to store it separately. The carrying handle is in an awkward position which causes the unit to tilt precariously when walking. The measuring fill cups were replaced with a narrow fill hole. The measuring cup/lid on the detergent bottle is to be used, but the fill hole is so narrow that unless it's poured agonizingly slow, half of the detergent will spill down the side of the tank. White lettering was used for the "MAX" level indicator on the clear solution tank against opaque liquid inside. The scrubber brushes work well but there is no edge suction or scrubbing. Use of either the clunky attachment or a small cleaner is necessary to get close to the surbase. The clear suction sleeve on the front of the unit is an odd design change. Older models sucked up the dirty water in a slot between the clear cover and the face of the unit. Removing the cover made for easy cleaning...one swipe with a paper towel and it's done. This model provides a slim, plastic tool to pull out debris in the suction sleeve, but it's not very effective. Best thing to do is run a strong stream of water through the sleeve turning it in several directions to clear the debris. In summary, it works well but not much of an improvement from the original design.

In my 15 years of having multiple animals and making my house look like I haven't had any pet- I have been through my fair share of carpet cleaners. I have rented professional ones (Bissell and Rug Doctor) and I have bought two bissell's and they were weak and tore up after malticiously maintaining them after every use!). This Hoover is on point with their design and it cleans so well and its just as great as a professional(I have used Stanley steamer too)!!! And I LOVE LOVE the fact how the brushes are removable for cleaning! The worse part after using a carpey cleaner is cleaning the actual machine and Hoover made it easier! Thank you!

Having two containers one for clean water the other for dirty was ingenious. And I was AMAZED how clean it got my carpet. I even was able to clean my stairs without using the attachment. So easy and comfortable to use, it felt like I was vacuuming my carpet. Overall a winner! Five stars no question.

Perfect for pet messes

We have 4 dogs in our house so eventually an accident is bound to happen. We have had this carpet cleaner for years and it still goes strong! And it is so simple to use too. Just fill with water and mix with the solution. It gets stains out of carpet like a pro.
