[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I knew my old Bissell vacuum was almost worn out and the difference between this vacuum and the old Bissell became obvious the first time I used the Hoover. I was impressed with its performance. On the other hand, the location of the on off switch is in the worst possible location. You have to bend over to turn on this vacuum! The design engineer for this vacuum was not thinking in terms of placement for the on/off switch. The on/off switch should be near the top of the handle. Are you listening Hoover?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This vacuum is so incredibly heavy I can't imagine the average person using it. It's a struggle to push back and forth back and forth. The bad is so bulky and large, which creates a good cleaning path, but a horrible time moving it. The pieces and hoses are awkward and clunky and some don't stay on the side of the vacuum properly while using it. The only thing that I'm pleased with on this vacuum is the cord Rewind actually works for now, though I know these are famous for quitting on you after a couple months so that remains to be seen. This is not a vacuum I would pull out for most jobs, but for whole house use, you need to have a big house with wide open floors. For smaller houses like mine, you'll be running into everything and barely having enough space to maneuver it around.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I used to get excited about things like concerts, fitted clothes and new flavors of overpriced coffee drinks. And now, here I am, a mom of 5 with lots of pets and a husband who wears his shoes on the carpet. Bless him. Here's the deal on the Hoover WindTunnel Cord Rewind Pro: *Sucking power is wonderful! I used it AFTER using my other vacuum on the floor to see if it was as good as they advertised. Yes. It picked up dirt and hair that the other vacuum didn't--even though the carpet didn't look dirty! *Assembly is easy. There's only one screw that you need to tighten. The rest just pops into place. *Filter is easy to clean. *The rewind pedal feels flimsy, so I just hope none of my kids smash it off (I could totally see it happening). *Cord rewinds FAST. Stay out of the way or get cord-slapped! *This sucker is LOUD. This is not a quiet, soothing purr, but a loud roar of cleaning power. *It worked will with pet hair. *It doesn't like to suck up LEGO.

Over the years, I've owned a few models of the fancy "Scandinavian" brand, a couple Bissell vacuums, and now the Hoover Windtunnel. My household consists of a thirteen year old hockey player (can you say "STINK"?!), a 14 year old miniature poodle, and a 13 year old cat who likes to mark her territory quite a bit. Needless to say, I'm always trying to make my house smell better and keep my floors vacuumed. I was slightly skeptical of the Hoover Windtunnel at first, mainly because it's a little bulky and lacks the bells and whistles that other machines have (like a front light or swiveling handle). It seemed to take a lot of effort to move it across my Berber carpet - but that was remedied by adjusting the carpet level dial on the front of the vacuum. Where this vacuum really shines, however, is on hard floors. Typically, most vacuums struggle on hard floors, flinging debris and litter pieces all over the place - but not the Hoover Windtunnel! I happily vacuumed the linoleum all around my cat's litter box, not once sending rogue litter flying into the depths of every corner. Never did I imagine myself beaming with delight after vacuuming up my cat's sloppy litter tracks! PROS: Powerful suction Retractable cord Three tools included Canister so I can see all the mess CONS: Loud The tools kept falling off as I maneuvered around

The old Hoover had the power button right by your thumb....so convenient! The new Hoover, you have to "hunt" for the button every time you power on or off, annoying!! Other than that, the price was reasonable and the suction is amazing!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ive had this vac for a few weeks now and I love it!! It has amazing suction, the tools work great, it's not heavy so doing stairs isn't bad. It's not extremely light either so it really feels like it's a good machine. The retractable cord is a big deal for them I mean it's a great feature but I would love this vacuum without it. It worked great on hard floors and on the rugs! It comes in 2 pieces but it's very easy to together. It's also very easy to empty the canister snaps in and out very easily and it's a push button empty. I definitely recommend this vacuum unless maybe you have a small apartment. It's pretty big & doesn't hang or anything so you need a spot to store it. If you need a nice powerful vacuum though I highly recommend!!!
