[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the ThinkPad P16s primarily to run big-data microscopy work - image and spectrographic analysis. I analyze pretty big datasets ( 5-40 Gb) but no 3-d rendering, so the AMD version with integrated GPU, and lotsa memory (64Gb) does the trick - it's way, way zippier than my 5-yr-old Intel i9+GPU desktop. The high-res OLED display is gorgeous, perfect for image processing and general photography. My only complaints are with Windows 11 - way too much MS bloatware. Also there's initially no way to log into the computer without an MS online account. The MS store of course has none of the scientific apps I need and the process of converting the system to a purely local system was far more annoying than it needs to be. I also dual boot Linux Mint (Cinnamon Edge version) which runs flawlessly so far, though I haven't really run any graphics-intensive programs through their paces to test full compatibility with the new 780M GPU. I did have to disable Secure Boot in the BIOS (because of a known Ubuntu key signature problem, not a Lenovo/MS issue) and decrypt the hard drive with BitLocker before booting the Linux ISO and repartitioning.

Great battery charge threshold capability to prolong battery life. Stays quiet & cool.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What a beast. I love this machine. This is a perfect reference design for these AMD processors. Super-fast, long battery life, great graphics capability for my usage(photo editing), and oh, what a display!
On top of all that, the price was great. A (non) comparable machine based on an Intel processor was priced several hundred $$ more (slower DRAM speeds, smaller DRAM capacity).
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] One of the most excellent tech purchases I've made the past couple of years! This is an upgrade from an i9 Asus Duo Pro I had previously and this P16 beats that one 9/10 criteria!
Only thing that my P16 lacks that would have been a nice feature for me personally would be a touch screen, even if it rarely gets used.
The laptop performance is amazing, I work as a developer with heavy env software running at the same time. The screen is my favorite point of the laptop is amazing, even compared with other 4k great monitors. The mouse pad surprised me quite a bit, is feels good, not great, but good enough in case I need to do some quick work without a mouse. The points in which I wish was better for this price range are mainly 2: Battery and start up times. The laptop takes FOREVER to turn on from sleep state, around a minute, not the performance expected at all. Battery lasts for about 4-5 hours with average use. Not great, but not that important for me.
Great laptop for the piece, very fast, great graphics, a perfect computer for the money. I am impressed by how much power and performance is packed in this computer for the price….
