Besure To Check Battery's Date Code

Dec. 4, 2019 I purchased the DeWalt Drill kit which included two DeWalt 20V MAX* Lithium Ion batteries. I used the drill here and there to drill a hole and to drive in screws. Fast forward to early Feb. 2020, I fully charged both batteries. With a fully charged battery, I drilled a 1/2" hole using a DeWalt bit, I needed to drill three holesl. About half way of my drilling the second hole, the DeWalt drill came to a halt. I pulled out of the half drilled hole, pulled on the drill's trigger and nothing happened. I changed out the battery and pulled back the trigger, the drill worked, so I completed the second hole and just about finished the third hole when the drill stopped again. I let the drill rest then I finally was able to drill the hole.
I called DeWalt ask them to send out two new batteries. The DeWalt angent said before I can do that, I need to know the date code on both batteries and explained to me how to locate that code. I read to him the code of both batteries. He said, I need you to send me your proof of purchase because, we guarantee our batteries for 3 years, and since the date code you gave me is over the 3 year mark.
I emailed the agent my reciept for the drill kit. Now I am waiting for the batteries. So make sure you check the date code which is located on top of the battery, it'll have the year in full followed by some other numbers with dashes. Check the code(s) before your purchase or before you leave the store to make sure the battery(s) date are concurrent.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a DeWALT corded power drill but I do a lot of work away from an electrical source so I purchased this cordless drill. It works great and the power I get from the fully charged battery is perfect for most jobs. It never lets me down and I take it to work sites where I know I can depend on its power and reliability.

Great quality and reliability

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First saw thus tool being used by another worker at a job. I thought- these tools are too small, they cannot do the heavy fastening work that needed to be done (6 inch lag bolts and 3.5 inch deck screws into treated lumber). Boy was I surprised, no problem at all. Super powerful and fast- blew my Ryobi cordless tools away! Made me ditch my old tools and get the Dewalt set and could nit be more pleased. Keep up the good work- the LED lights on the tools are the best.
