By pairing a power meter with your Galaxy smartphone, Galaxy AI can quickly estimate your FTP based on your heart rate. Final Straw. Going to other brand!

I made the mistake of buying this watch because the reviews were incredibly high. Given the track record of Samsung, I should have known to be cautious.
I made sure to thoroughly update my phone apps to accommodate features of the new watch. Then made sure to update the watch, connect to wifi and bluetooth, and spent time sorting how I wanted the layout of the watchface and apps to be.
I soon realized that not only was I not getting any text message notifications to my watch... But even once I saw my phone had new text messages, when I went to the watch to read them I noticed the watch never received any of the new text messages!
I now realize via message boards and other sites. It is a bug. Will be returning. Not worth the headache if I can't get notifications and the watch isn't syncing even though all settings are correct.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

To use the call or text features via Bluetooth, the watch must be connected to a phone through Bluetooth and the Galaxy Wearable app. If the watch is connected remotely via Wi-Fi, you will not receive incoming calls. Please verify that silent modes are disabled. Do Not Disturb, Goodnight, and Theater modes are silent modes that minimize distractions by silencing your watch. Depending on the mode, alarms and alerts may be silent, and the touchscreen may not turn on during incoming calls. Press any key on the watch, rotate the bezel, or raise your wrist to turn on the screen and check for incoming calls. Nice looking watch with pretty bad battery life.

Pros:
The watch design appears nice, it sits comfortably on the wrist and feels somewhat premium.
The screen is bright and sharp, which is expected from most modern smartwatches.
The new strap mechanism is interesting, but I'll reserve judgment until I see how it holds up over time.
The faster performance due to the new processor.
Cons:
The battery life is abysmal. What a disappointment. Despite turning off the always on display, I've barely scraping by with 2 days. Frankly, that’s not impressive.
Comparing it to my previous Samsung Classic Watch 4, it’s like choosing between two equally unappetizing options.
And here’s the kicker: Some important health features are exclusive to Samsung phones. If you’re not in the Samsung ecosystem, tough luck. That’s a significant drawback.
In summary, the watch has its merits, but the battery issue is a glaring flaw. Perhaps I’ve stumbled upon a lemon, and returning it might be my best move.
So be aware.

The Watch Ultra offers features like multisport, allowing you to switch between sports and create your own challenges easily. We understand your concerns about the shortened battery life and receiving text messages from a group chat. LTE watches are set up with the service providers under a separate phone number from your phone, which is why the calls are likely going to the watch instead of the phone. The only available option on the watch is to block the number. To do this, open the Phone app on the Watch, select the number, scroll down, and tap "Block number." As far as the battery, we recommend making sure your watch is up to date with the latest software update available. From Settings, tap Software Update to check for available software updates. No rotating bezel

Great, but bad charging

Battery, screen, and new health sensors are good. But, the charging base that comes with it doesn't work well if you don't lay it perfectly flat and in the perfect spot. If you are using their outdoor band, you can't lay it flat. This means it stops and starts charging many times which can hurt the battery. I put it back on my old stand that works perfectly with galaxy 6 and that works better, but because its heavier, it will sometimes slide down a bit and stop charging. Samsung, please take note of the charging issues and make a good stand, not just that magnetic base that doesn't like bands under it.

Fake heart rate data

Same issue as the watch 5, heart rate is a total fabrication most of the time. It's funny, you can look at the heart rate app, your heart rate fluctuates up... down.... and all around, but take a peek under the watch and the green light isn't even on, lol. When you choose monitor continuously, it monitors when you're walking, but not when your at rest or it deems you to not be active enough. Nothing worse than fake data. Aside from that, it's an ultra in name, certainly not in battery life.

The Watch Ultra features enhanced heart rate monitoring that allows you to customize your training for optimal results, tailored specifically for you. If the step or heart rate tracking features are not working properly on your watch, the watch band or strap may be too loose or the watch's software might need updating. However, a simple reboot may solve the problem. If the watch is too loose, or the sensor is dirty, it may have difficulty tracking your steps and heart rate. Make sure to clean the watch and make sure it's properly fitted to get the best results. Another possible solution would be to reboot the watch. Press and hold the Home key (Power key) and Back key simultaneously for 7 seconds, until the watch displays "Rebooting..." When the watch has finished booting, test the step and heart rate trackers. If you are still having challenges after rebooting your watch, check for software updates on your watch and the Galaxy Wearable app. As far as your battery, we recommend always making sure that your watch is up to date with the latest software available. Your Samsung smartwatch isn’t all cogs and gears - it’s wires, processors, data chips, and software! And just like with any other smart device, the watch's software and apps will need to be updated every so often. Luckily, you can update both whether or not you have a phone! If your watch is paired with a Samsung phone you can use Samsung Members to perform a diagnostic on your watch battery. If it passes the test, you'll know the battery is in good condition.
