Good performance but questionable design

Got this when it came out and got a great upgrade deal but not too sure about it, ended up having to return it and had a bit of a nightmare doing that. It has a great screen, faster than the last generation and the bands feel chuncky but it is huge. Looks like walking around with a TV on your wrist, There is no rotating physical control despite the appearance of the middle button and it isn't compatible with older bands. Given the size I expected much better battery life.

The battery life is amazing. I can go about 2-3 days with charging with all settings turned on. It took me awhile to get used to the square bevel. The watch is very thick.
I bought this watch for myself, I loved my previous Galaxy watch. The Ultra is even better than I ever imagined, the ease of setting up your apps, the seamless flow of the watch and how fast the watch is. I love the Ultra so much I got another one for my husband as a birthday gift. And the trade in for our old watches was so easy and fast.

WATCH COLOR-CONTRAST

It sure would be nice to see the WHITE, GREY and SILVER all displayed with the same watch screen so as to be able to equally compare the look of the watch. The white on white is not extremely attractive however with a black face it might be far more appealing.

I love the Samsung Galaxy Ultra Watch

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really love the Galaxy ultra watch I didn't think I would because I already own a galaxy 22 ultra and didnt see the benefits of owning the watch at first but the longer I have it the more I realize how wonderful it actually is also i can transfer music files from my galaxy s22 ultra to my watch and the ability to verbally use and interact with Galaxy AI to control my device while driving is absolutely fantastic!

Disappointed with HR accuracy

I've had my Galaxy Watch Ultra for a few weeks now and I am disappointed with the lack of accuracy with the heart rate monitoring. For the record, I like Samsung have owned multiple Samsung phones, tablets, and even buy Samsung tablets for our company.
I have used various brands of heart rate monitors for training since the early 1990s. My Galaxy Watch Ultra seems fine just walking around but on simple workouts like spin biking or walking on a treadmill my heart rate will shoot up to 40 to 100 bpm higher than what it actually is. For example, tonight it showed my heart rate at 213 bpm when a chest strap monitor and manual measurement both showed my heart rate was 100 bpm. This has happened 4 or 5 times in just the few weeks I've had it.
I've tried restarting the watch before exercise and making sure the watch is about 1 finger width above the wrist and comfortably snug.
I'm so let down with the performance that I have actually purchased a different brand heart rate monitor since purchasing my Galaxy Watch Ultra just a month ago.
I like the watch itself except for the HR inaccuracy. Unfortunately, the primary reason I bought it was for HR monitoring during training.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The accuracy of your device and its software, including heart rate readings, may be affected by environmental conditions, skin condition, activity during use, device settings, user-provided information, sensor placement, and user interactions. Samsung Health measures your heart rate using lights and sensors located on the back of your watch. But you’ll need to make sure you're doing things properly to get the best measurement results. Check out the following information: -For a mid-workout measurement, take a brief break before taking your heart rate. Take measurements when seated and when you are relaxed for the most accurate reading. -Do not move your body while taking heart rate measurements. Doing so may cause your heart rate to be recorded inaccurately. -If the measurement is very different from the expected heart rate, rest for 30 minutes and then measure it again. -If your heart rate is extremely high or low, measurements may be inaccurate. Wear the watch snugly above the wrist. Do not fasten the watch band too tightly. Avoid attaching third-party bands to your watch, and only use the band included with your watch or a Samsung-approved band specifically designed for it. -Measurements may need to be repeated at least five times for the most accurate results. -Remove the protective plastic from the heart rate measurement sensor before taking measurements. -If the heart rate sensor is not working properly, wipe the sensor, and adjust the position of the watch to sit above your wrist.
