Otterbox has been my choice for years now, my first year was the Defender w belt clip, then year two was the Commuter which has been my choice for 7 years now. The only problem ever encountered was Otterbox is always the last one with the Commuter series. Beyond that I have never experienced an issue that I could blame on Otterbox!

Bit disappointed in this purchase. It's not a super strong connection, wallet pops of case at times (and I have an otterbox symmetry + case), so not a strong hold like I imagined it would be. Also cards stick up past top a bit and the slots are so tight can only really get two cards in and it's hard getting them out. Kind of wish i'd gone with the apple wallet, but they didn't have good colors and usually everything otterbox is great.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The configuration of the magnets on both of those pieces should allow for a fairly solid connection. Is there any consistency in terms of when the wallet is coming free from the case?

I really like the appearance but very disappointed in the MagSafe capabilities. I have almost lost it several times due to it coming off. I expected a stronger hold where it would stay connected to the phone when pulling out pocket.

The phone case is just fine but the Mag-Safe is NOT SAFE!!
During a recent flight the case with my credit cards came detached when i stood up to depart the plane.
If I hadn't taken my phone out of my pocket to make a call I would not have noticed. Fortunately the plane's captain assisted and went back on the plane to retrieve it.
