Really like- but is this normal?

I only received this carpet cleaning machine and used it once so far so I will wait to write a detailed review. I have a QUESTION for Hoover and if others are also able to comment on a reply, I welcome any others to share if this occurred for them as well. My carpet was a mess and the last time it was cleaned it was done professionally around five years ago. And we have two cats that do pick at it. Pushing the carpet cleaner forward and back it spits out leaving a trail of wet, dirty carpet pieces. At first I assumed this is how dirty the carpet is, but began to worry and wonder if this was a sign of something from the machine, or if the machine was pulling out carpet, and was it something I'm doing wrong such as - maybe it's a sign the solution that came with this machine wasn't right for this carpet? Maybe it's a sign I'm taking too long and going too slowly over an area (although spraying solution once on some areas carpet would spit out. These clumps would also need to be cleaned out of the crevices of the plastic piece that holds the brush that scrubs and rotates after each dirty water empty - what's left thae machine didn't spit out in a trail at times where I've cleaned. So what's happening? Is this good or bad? Am I doing something wrong? My carpets clean and although there was a LOT of wet carpet spit out and caught in the brush head, I can't tell if my carpet now looks thinner or not. My husband didn't say anything like that seeing it the next day. I just can't BELIEVE the amount of carpet!! I worry when I use a second and third time, if it is removing carpet, I'll start seeing where it's removing it- I don't want to wait for THAT to do something about it, when it's too late. Another question is: is there an amount of time that's best for this machine to be running at one time? Being my first time I'm unsure of the speed I should go along with the amount of back and fourth when spraying as well as when drying? If you have a 50 to 60 foot by 25-30 foot room, how much time would and should that take me to complete? Should I, can I keep going over an area until the waters no longer dirty in one cleaning or spread it out? Lastly, is there an additional accessory available to carpet clean the area between the wall meeting the carpet? A link to only the extra accessories for just this machine would be helpful too! Thank you.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Did a great job cleaning an old beat up carpet. Easy to use and lightweight compared to the rental cleaners. Sure, you have to refill and empty the reservoirs frequently, but that's the tradeoff.

It did get a spot of spilt syrup up that was on my carpet and my dog likes to lay on the landing of my stairs, so it was really dirty, but this cleaner was able to remove it. Only issue is, I don't like how the detachable hose doesn't have a spot on the cleaner itself to hang on or anything. Overall, It was easy to put together and to figure out how to work it.

Perfect for Small Messes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I did have some issues with the handheld attachment, but after playing with it for a few minutes, I was able to get it working. I will say this would be great for small, occasional messes and not for the ENTIRE home, due to its size, I was able to clean my dog's bed and the water was BLACK! The tank for the cleaning fluid doesn't hold as much as I would like, but again this is a smaller cleaner so I can understand. I had some "high traffic" stains in the bedroom and it helped a little, but I think it was not fully effective since they were sitting for a while and I ran out of the fluid. I would reccommend it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the carpet cleaner to clean an area in my daughter's room where her guinea pigs live. We had a few stains that got through the cage and the Power dash cleaned it up super easily. I also used it at a friend's house who had some pretty bad stains. After cleaning, the carpet looked like it was brand new again. It's very easy to use and does a great job getting everything clean. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a reliable carpet cleaner especially with pets.
