Spirits of the Wild thinks outside the box

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter and I played Spirits of the Wild: Awakening. Reading through the directions was a little overwhelming at first, but once we started playing everything started to make sense and the game was enjoyable. My daughter loves animals, crystals and stones in general, so this game was fun for her because she was interested in the different elements of the game. She loved the little coyote figurine and kept trying to push it back to my animal boards.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Beautiful game perfect for 2 players

The game has both English and German language, so it could also be a fun teaching tool for anyone learning German. It’s a great game for one on one time with you tween.

Beautiful strategy game

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Spirits of the Wild: Awakening is a beautiful two-player board game in which players use tiles and spirit cards to collect vividly colored stones. This game is easy to learn and play. Each of the boards requires a specific combination of stones that players need to make, so the game requires some strategy to decide how many stones to draw. The trickster coyote is a fun addition that allows players to stop an opponent from playing on a card. The game doesn't take very long to play, so playing multiple rounds with different boards keeps game play exciting and fun.

Beautiful game for two, requiring light strategy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off, this game is absolutely gorgeous. The artwork on everything, not limited to the box, is beautiful. I love that all game materials are in both English and German. It was really easy to learn and play, but still felt engaging after playing over and over again, and it left myself and my daughter wanting to continue playing multiple times with the relatively short "rounds" of gameplay.
This game is quick enough that it's easy to do a play-through before bed, which makes it a great way to close out the day with someone special. My daughter loves getting together after dinner to play to wind down for the night. Sometimes we get one round in, sometimes we get 3 or 4.
I also love that the game can be altered slightly by switching out the animals (though we already have our favorites), but remains the same overall. It's been fun to learn a little in German from comparing the English and German cards as well.
Overall, a beautiful game that has a quick gameplay that anyone can pick up and learn. The only thing I wish was different was if you could play with more than 2 people.
