This product solved my reception issues. I live in an area 1/2 way between San Francisco and San Jose. Each city has its own area for TV station broadcast towers--they are in different directions, around 25-35 miles from my home. Most major stations (ABC, NBC, CBS, etc.) have broadcast towers in both sites. Unfortunately, 2 stations (FOX and PBS) are each only in one of the two locations. That means I need antennas to be optimized for both directions if I want to get all channels.
Originally I tried an omni-directional antenna. It worked OK much of the time, but seemed to cut out at times. Typically when my wife's favorite program was on. Bad news for me! By aiming each half of the the DB8e in a different direction, the problem was solved. Happy wife, happy home now.
Assembly was easy for me -- under 30 minutes. But I am very careful. I check every part first and ensure I know what it is, where it goes and which side is the front/top. I loosely fit everything first, before tightening. I read the directions from start to finish plus watch YouTube video before starting assembly. If you just rush in, you'll still get this assembled properly, but it will take 2X as long.
My other observation is that I used a website to find the exact direction of the TV towers and then I aimed the antennas with a compass app (Compass from melon soft) on my android cell phone. Aiming is pretty sensitive -- if you are off by 30 degrees (easy if you just aim by eye), don't expect good results. I got things right the first time, which saved so much frustration.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After 2 unsuccessful attempts at installing antennas purchased from a different company, I found Antenna Direct and the DB8e Long Range model. It does what the others couldn't do, pulling in all antenna television stations from a 35 mile radius from my house. I installed the antenna in the tall attic of my 1 story house, and I have several 2 story homes & large trees around my home (I mention this because I know taller structures can influence antenna signals). According to AntennaWeb, there are an additional 4 stations broadcasting between 35 - 40 miles from my home, but it does not receive those stations (no one in my neighborhood using a variety of antennae seem to be able to receive those either though).

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Mounted 40" j mount on platform high in rafters, installed DB8e with juice amp. 100% signal 30 mile range , 75 / 85 % signal 45 mile range. Well worth time and investment.

Phenomenal Antenna DB8e

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This antenna has resolved all my reception problems in my geographically challenged OTA reception area surrounding my neighborhood with a 100 foot high granite berm overgrown with trees and hilly terrain further out. Perched 35 feet high from the ground atop my house I get all of Boston's OTA signals.
This antenna replaces another leading antenna from a well recognized antenna company; I was 80% satisfied with that antenna but in changing weather patterns it needed another solution and the DB8e provided that solution performing like a champ.
No question. The DB8e does an outstanding job.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live about 65 miles from the transmitter and in a hole and get a great picture with this antenna. This is my second DB8 antenna, the first was about 6 years old and working great but could not hold up to 1 1/2 inch hail driven by 63 mph winds. We have had 80 to 90 mph winds and the antenna has held up just great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My house in in the shadow of a hill from the TV towers. I used TVfool to do signal analysis which was confirmed by the telephone support / sales person. I angled the two sides of the antenna 77 degrees apart to pick up stations in two directions. I receive all station that I was hoping for. The picture is crystal clear even in wind, rain and hail storms. I wish that I knew the effective cross-sectional area when purchasing a mast.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I replaced an older wineguard antenna that was probably about 20 years old. With the wineguard and an old radio shack archer amplifier I was receiving approx 10 channels all from the South Bend, IN market about 35 miles away. With this DB8e installed and pointed at both South Bend, IN and Chicago (72 miles away) I am pulling in some 73 channels on a good night. All of the South Bend market comes in even in poor weather conditions. I have this db8e paired with the juice pre-amp on a rooftop install at approx 27 feet in height. My entire property is surrounded by 50 ft high oak trees and I still pull in the channels. Very impressed and satisfied with the product.
