I have had this for over 3 months now and am very happy with it. I like the design of it and the fact that you can aim it in 2 different directions if you want. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This antenna is pretty large but I figured that I needed to get reception from major network stations that are 60 miles away and so this should work. Assembly was not too difficult although I would have liked the instructions to be a little more detailed. I have it set up in my attic at the highest spot I could get it. I set up a platform between the joists with the J-bar supporting the antenna.
As far as reception, I initially used a splitter but it worked best without it and bought a long coax cable (50'). Once I got the antenna pointing in the right direction, I got great reception for 2 major networks (the primary goal) and several smaller stations. Very happy to be able to get the news since I have no interest in television beyond that.
But for some reason, the reception is intermittent for those major stations. It works 100% for the shopping channels and Spanish channels...but that doesn't help me. For the 2 major network stations, it will be great for a few minutes and then disappear. Trying it later in the day...well...maybe it works...maybe not.
The bad reception to the major networks happens on sunny days or cloudy days...no pattern that I can see. Perhaps there's something blocking between me and the City 60 miles away that moves around?? No hills. Only trees and highways...so I'm fairly perplexed. I've pondered whether to install it on the roof but am hesitant to make that effort if the issue is not with the antenna position but something else between me and the stations. I live in a condo and would have to get HOA permission to mount it outside. Ugh.
Overall, I'm satisfied with the antenna since I tried 3 others before finding this one. This is the only one that was able to get those far away stations. Intermittent reception is better than nothing.

Called A.D. and after some review decided that since I live on the fringe of reception that the DB8e would be the one. It is really great. I get 12 crystal clear HD stations. Really works great.
