Antenna is Good but does not mix with DIRECTV well

The antenna worked as it should and picked up a bunch of UHF stations in my area. I was hoping to combine it with Directv service but as soon as I would do that, it was like the antenna got short-circuited. It wouldn’t work by itself any more even.

Nearest station broadcast tower is approximately 75 to 80 miles away and this antenna coupled with the PA18 UHF / VHF Antenna Pre-Amplifier Kit mounted on a telescopic pole on my roof eave gets the job done. Highly recommended. Customer service is the best in the business, very helpful and friendly. Fast shipping also.

I was tired of paying exorbitant fees for cable, and it kept going up, so did some searching and found Antenna Direct. Although I occasionally lose a signal for certain channels, and have to scan the channels occasionally, I am glad that I purchased the antenna from them. I am getting HD TV without a monthly fee, so I am happy with my purchase.

I have been off cable tv for over 10 years I was fed up with paying 200 dollars a month just to watch television I purchased a computer with a tv tuner and DVR built in and started streaming Hulu and later Netflix. The computer paid for itself in just a few months. But I was still missing my local channels. Shortly after that I purchased my first antenna from antennas direct and it worked great 25 channels. I recently moved into a condominium and was dreading the thought of resuming cable so I called antennas direct and spoke with a rep, she helped me find an antenna that would work in my attic. To my surprise I now receive 36 channels and can continue saving thousands by not using a cable provider. Thanks antennas direct!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live between two markets that are about 140° opposed from each other. One market is 45 miles away, the other is about 27 miles away.
I installed a Channel Master Extreme80 a year ago (it was called something different then). It did a reasonable job of picking up channels from both markets, but certain channels were not being received during specific times of the day (signal strength drop to 10% or so at certain times of the day, and are over 90% at other times). This was mostly from the market that is 45 miles away. I thought that this antenna (two units being pointed directly at each market) would cure that issue. It did not.
With the Channel Master, I had rarely received a couple of other stations I enjoyed that are over 50 miles away and 30° north of one of the two markets. I was hoping that having one unit of the DB8 pointed more in that general direction would allow me to receive them more often. I do not receive them at all.
In fairness, I DID pick up three additional PBS channels from the market that is 45 miles away. But their signal availability is also sporadic. This occasional availability of these three channels is the only improvement that I saw.

All in all this is a good antenna. It does slightly better than the Channel Master I had installed. It just does not overcome the occasional weak signal issue issue I have, even with elements that point directly at each market.
