Bought this camera in January, worked good until I took it down in February (at the end of the season) now I can’t even get it to turn on

Very Poor Quality Photos and Videos

I have been using the camera (Flax G-36) for about 1 month now with their premium data plan. This is my first spypoint camera. This is also my first cellular cam and that aspect has been a good experience. However, I have been really dissappointed with the quality of the photos and videos even when I pull the SD card and look at them directly from the card. The cellular pictures that come through on the app are lower quality previews but even viewing on a computer, they are terrible quality. The videos are some of the worst I have ever seen on a trail cam, very jumpy, pixelated, and the colorations are off. I went back to a 6 year old browning camera to record videos because the spypoint ones are so bad. I don't know if this is the same for all of spypoint's cameras, but I would not waste my money on this again. I thought this was one of SpyPoint's better quality cameras, but apparently not.

The image quality depends on several factors, but more importantly, the installation environment of the camera and its settings, and the way the camera is used if installed as a feeder to monitor an entrance... The most important options to check are the motion delay and the multishot. If you take images with a slow motion lens, you must take the multishot because continuous repetition does not give enough time for the camera to correct the image component before shooting, especially if the motion delay is set up for a short period of time. Likewise, the lens is very sensitive and acts on what happens, like movement, temperature, etc. Please check that the camera is well installed at a good height on the ground so as not to be influenced by fog for the images taken in the hours earlier in the day. Install it so that it is parallel to the ground; this improves the detection range and the IR flash coverage as well. Also, the image resolution quality is adjustable in the settings. Easy setup but troubles down the road.

I've owned this about a month. I set it up in my yard. Startup was easy and flawless. Pictures look great. I upgraded to the unlimited plan after just a few days, but one of the reasons I bought this was free pics. Downsides, I shut off the camera because working in the yard, didn't come back on easily when I switched back on, realized next day it wasn't working. 3 times I have had it tell me that suddenly my SD card wasn't working, and I had to go reseat SDcard. Good thing this isn't too far away, if this was miles into the forest, I would be so mad. I got pics of 5 deer at my plot at 7am, but later I was having to reseat SD card. If I move this to another tree for a better angle, I now expect to have to reseat battery and SDcard, and I get it working, but maybe just a few hours later it's saying battery is dead, or SDcard is 0.0gb.

Worked for a while than would not work . Keeps telling me to format my SD card bought another SD card still not working. Called support couldn't help. Love to return for a link trail camera but can't get any response. My link camera works.

Will NOT buy again

We have had nothing but issues with our cameras. Every single time we get them placed somewhere they throw error messages for SD cards. We have changed Micro SD cards (correctly) multiple times and despite telling this to customer service, that is the only "solution" they seem to ever give. No offer to replace the camera, etc even after mutiple conversations with them. Pointless to have cell cameras you have to constantly take down. Will not ever buy a spypoint product again.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY

I bought this stupid thing, even though I read the reviews about the SD card issues. I thought I could figure it out. I put it in, and it worked fine for a day and a half. Then all of a sudden, invalid SD card issues started happening. I changed out the SD card and it worked for about 2 hrs. Then I got invalid SD card. I changed it out again with a 3rd SD card and it didn't work at all. I reformatted all of the SD cards and tried them again with no luck. Then, I updated the firmware with another SD card. Now the thing is stuck flashing lights on the signal and on the status. It says it needs a better connection when I tried looking it up, but I am exactly where I was originally during setup. I tried moving around to see if I could get it to work. I have cell phone service in this location. The SD cards used were 32 GB type 10 class U1 PNY Elite SD cards. Also, after I updated the firmware, it did have signal enough to sync to the app, because the firmware updated with the newest firmware numbers. However, the lights continue to flash. I replaced the batteries. I turned it off and turned it back on again. I removed the batteries. I removed the SD card that had the new firmware files on it and replaced it with yet another SD card. THESE CAMERAS ARE JUNK!!!!!!! I filed for a return and will be going with another brand.
