Battery life not good

I have 2 flex-s cameras, not impressed with the solar charger on these 2 cameras. I'm only getting a week to week and a half with these cameras. I've charged them for several days, I've used them with lit-22 batteries and lithium aa batteries and still the cameras don't last very long compared to the felx 36 cameras which seem to last for several months with the lit-22 batteries... so I'm not impressed with the felx-s over the felx 36 cameras....

Hello Billr57, We always appreciate our customers sharing feedback and their honest opinions with us. The battery life, whether using the solar panel, the rechargeable battery, or the classic AA batteries, depends on several factors relating to the use of the camera: Low signal: When the signal is low, the camera will try to establish a connection over a longer period of time (or will try to make many connection attempts), Bad reading between SD card and camera, a lot of night pictures: Night pictures require the flash LED to turn on, the orientation of the batteries: If one battery is not inserted properly, Overall, the setting might affect the battery life : Using only the video mode, which requires the camera to stay in action longer, more important are the transfer frequency, delay, and multishot because they impact the number of photos and therefore the number of times the camera transfers per day, which is equivalent to the number of times the camera connects to the signal. Please ensure that the camera have a good signal, we recommend installing it where the signal is better; likewise, check the SD card and the settings; and precisely for this model equipped with a solar panel, ensure that it is installed to receive as much direct sunlight as possible, typically, the panel should be facing south. If, however, you need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our support at https://www.spypoint.com/en/chat so that we can look into it further and help you resolve any situation you may encounter. Thank you. Have a good day.

I bought is camera because it was Solar and I would not have to replace the batteries all the time espeically since I want to use it for videos ! so first thing when it sends you a video you only get a clip of the video which you cant see much of anything if you want to see the whole video you have to pay extra for the HD video so there is a charge per video and then there is another charge to get the whole video ! it becomes expensive. the other thing it really runs off the batteries you install for backup I found out !! I have my camera on a open field facing south and the battery life status is 100 % good, it stops working no pictures for 5 days so you have to bring the camera down try and call support forget that left a message said they would call back in a hour they never called in 2 days so used the chat to find out the battery life was 100% but my batteries I put in I thought for back up were dead !! so now I have 8 new AA batteries in and it works so I have to go back up the mountain and install it he said I was taking videos to close together maybe ??? omg I just switched in back to pictures and hope these batteries well last another month until deer season is over. Terrible

If you are buying any of the Skypoint Products and you live away from the camera it would be good if you had someone local who could go by and turn it off then back on regularly. Ya see, there isn't a remote function to boot the camera when it stops working, and it does. I've even turned my off then back on, snaps a few pictures then it turns itself off after a time period . Only to find that out after you've driven two hours away. Don't get me wrong, it takes great pictures, when it's actually working.

BATTREY DOESN'T LAST!

First one that I had lasted about a month before battery died in middle of an update. Sent back and got free camera. New camera placed with sun directly on it and battery lasted 3 weeks. Solar panel shows 50% charged but battery dropped from 95% to 4% in a few days and now 0%. Not sure what is going on here. I have other SpyPoint Flex-G camera with same battery and they last for months. Flex -S with same Lithium battery only lasts a few weeks. Not happy as I am not near my cameras and cannot troubleshoot quickly!

Burn ps the battery so fast
on November 28, 2023

I purchased this thinking it was going to be a great camera. Not at all. Burns the battery very fast even at a reduced send setting. Or doesn’t even get signal to send. I have the link micro and micro s. They work great. Don’t waste the money on this one

Great pictures and video, but terrible battery
on December 24, 2023

The camera takes great pictures and video, but the battery technology needs to be improved. My first camera the solar battery did not charge by solar and be dead within 24 hours. Spypoint replaced the camera and this one will charge but needs total sunlite. I have it set to take a picture on detection with 1 hour in between. I also have the LIT-22 rechargeable battery installed and after 3 days of cloudy days the LIT-22 battery is dead and the solar battery is down to 20%. I have 6 Link Micro-S cameras and they stayed charged with barely any sun. It would be a better had design if the solar charger kept the LIT-22 battery charged like it the Link keeps it battery charged. If I by another Flex camera I would get the one without the solar and then by an external 12v external solar power pack.

Hello Monk, Thank you for your detailed review of our FLEX-S. It means a lot to us that you took the time to share your experience with us. You mentioned using the LIT-22 rechargeable battery, which is not charged by the solar panel but is charged outside the unit. The solar panel has a role in maintaining the charge of the internal battery of the unit and switches to the external battery in the event of a drop in the charge level of the internal battery. However, the lifespan of the batteries can be influenced by many factors, including the signal and settings. We would be delighted to discuss what occurred and how we might make things right and assist in resolving this situation. We have raised your concern with our higher-up team and have sent you an email to this effect. If you wish to contact us, our team is at your entire disposal at: https://www.spypoint.com/en/chat. Thank you, and have a great day.
