Great customer service on the first 2 replacements

I bought the FLEX-S and the first one had issues and they very quickly sent me a replacement. Same issues with that one and I was willing to try once more. But it turns out they don't give a refund on cameras after the first 30 days of the initial purchase.
So if you have any issues, don't troubleshoot get a refund right away.

Worst camera in their inventory

I ordered this camera the second they went on sale. Since then, I have had to send this camera back and revive another one which had the same problem. The solar panel does not charge the internal batteries at all, and they only last 3 days at most. the backup batteries are the only way to use this camera. When it rains water will kill this camera when it gets cold your batteries will die this camera is crap and i love my spy point cameras

Solar panel doesn’t charge well

I bought this to replace a microlink S repair destroyed hoping that it would keep up in the battery department and the charging arena with the link micro S… that is not the case.. also has 50% signal strength…. the microlink S had 90%..

Check if the battery on the solar panel is charged by holding the TEST button for 5 seconds. All the red lights should turn on. If the lithium battery solar panel is discharged, charge it by plugging the DC power adapter into the 5 V IN port for 4-6 hours. If the output cable is in good condition (not chewed, cut, etc.), Reassess if the location and orientation provide optimal sunlight to the solar panel. If possible, in direct sunlight with no shade, choose a south-facing position for optimal results. If there is not enough sunlight, the solar panel simply won’t recharge the internal battery (or be able to maintain the battery level), and the location of the camera will influence the range of the signal. Finally, test the camera, trigger a photo, and check your app to ensure a proper network connection. Love the solar cameras, I don’t have to worry about batteries anymore. The instant photo transfer is great! I can literally know where the deer are as they pass through my camera when a snapshot is texted to my phone instantly.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love on demand features....but

Love on demand features . picture quality is great.but the videos has fuzziness in them comes and goes throughout the videos...plus it freezes when I do a on-demand status update or picture or video had it happen this morning.

Great Images , easy to set-up, poor battery life

This is my second review of the SpyPoint Flex S. My first Flex-S would not last a week in the field, with both the Solar Battery being fully charged and 8 new AA batteries it lasted 5 days & 123 photos before going dead. After talking to Customer Service several times they agreed to replace it. I received the new camera right away and they provided me a return slip to ship back the other one. At the same time I purchased a LIT-22 lithium power pack. I fully charged both the new Flex S solar pack and the LIT-22 power pack. I had my camera setting on Standard Operation Mode, IMAGE on Photo , Motion delay 1 minute, Multishot on 1, & Sensitivity on Low, Cellular set-up Sync Frequency (6 times per day), in the General Settings I had it on Auto, C.S. told me that if the solar battery got low it would automatically switch to the LIT-22 back-up. (THIS SEEMS TO BE A MAJOR FLAW IN THERE SYSTEM).
I placed the Flex-S camera back out on 12/26/2023 around 2pm tested everything , camera was facing South ( so was receiving sunlight most of the day) , my Signal was 50% and working correctly. When checking my status 4 days later after receiving quite a few pictures , the App was still telling me that the Solar battery was at 98% and the LIT pack @ 100%. Then 2 days later I quit receiving photos, I manually switched it to the LIT pack and it started communicating again. This lasted to 1/6/2024 (another 6 days) and it totally quit communicating. Yet when I checked the status it still said Solar Powered battery was at 98% and the LIT battery at 100% (see Photo). In those 12 days I did receive 189 photos , photo quality has never been a problem (See Photo), ease of set-up and using the app is Good, Customer Service is better now than ti was before Christmas , and I think that was just a volume issue. My main complaint is about how it is powered. It does not keep good control of what the actual status is of the batteries , and because of that it does not automatically switch to the other power source when needed. The other issue I have is that the only way to fully charge the Solar Battery is to pull the Camera and take it home so that it can be charged overnight. I would much rather see swap able power packs that you could take out and replace with a fresh pack without having to remove the camera from the Field. Thanks for listening!!!!

Regarding your comment about how the solar panels work with the internal battery and battery backup: The solar panel charges the internal battery, which serves as the primary power source for the camera. If the internal battery depletes to a certain level, the camera switches over to the backup battery until the internal battery recharges to a safe level. This strategy maximizes the longevity of both the primary and backup battery systems. We understand your inconvenience in having to retrieve the camera for a complete recharge, which is why we've developed the LIT-22 rechargeable batteries. We recommend alternating between the battery tray and the LIT-22 during use or having a pair of LIT-22s for year-round rechargeable options.
We also wanted to highlight a crucial factor that might contribute to communication disruptions in the camera. The signal level you mentioned, approximately 50% or roughly 2 bars of cellular coverage, could indeed impact the camera's ability to maintain consistent communication. Limited cellular signal strength can affect communication reliability, causing intermittent disruptions or a complete halt in data transmission. This factor might have played a pivotal role in the camera's intermittent behavior and eventual communication cessation.
