Great picture. The rest, not so much.

The picture is beautiful, but there's no voice/sound leveling and navigating the menus to set up a sound bar was a nightmare that I had to look up on line because neither of the two TV's came with any instructions other than the annoying "tutorial" which was absolutely useless. When I'm watching Netflix and some music comes on during the movie, the sound booms. Then the volume has to be adjusted up again to hear voice when the music ends.

Hi TV watcher,

Thank you for sharing your experience with volume fluctuations on your Samsung DU7200 TV. Sudden changes in volume can often be related to audio settings or content differences between sources or apps.

Please try the following adjustments to help stabilize your TV's audio:
1. Enable Auto Volume. Go to: Settings > All Settings > Sound > Expert Settings > Auto Volume. This feature helps maintain a consistent volume level when switching channels or apps.
2. Change Sound Mode. Try a different sound mode to see if one offers a more stable output: Settings > All Settings > Sound > Sound Mode (We recommend Standard or Amplify for more even performance.)
3. Check External Devices. If you're using a soundbar, receiver, or other audio device, check that its volume leveling or dynamic range settings aren’t interfering with the TV’s audio.
4. Update Firmware. Ensure your TV is running the latest software, as updates may include audio improvements: Settings > Support > Software Update > Update Now

If the issue persists after these steps, please don’t hesitate to reach Samsung Customer Support at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8AM – 12AM EST, 7 days a week. LiveChat is also available via the ‘Support’ link on our website.

Tv has a very good picture. Comes on almost instantly but very hard to get back to regular tv because hdmi disappeared from the row of icons. Have to reboot sometimes to get off of smart tv.
I have 3 other Samsung non smart tv,s and like that the regular remote works all of them .
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is my 4th Samsung TV, my 2nd that is 55 inches. I love Samsung electronics. Only issue with Samsung TV is the sound. After sound at 35 it does not get any louder so a soundbar is really necessary for movies etc.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We purchased the 55" Class Crystal UHD DU7200 as a replacement for an older LCD of the same size. This TV, of course is much lighter in weight than or older TV. At the store where it was purchased, there was a dedicated Samsung display. The images on this dedicated display were very bright and crisp, especially when compared to the other brands of TVs that were on display, showing network broadcast shows. I guess we were surprised by the difference in image quality. Based on this we made the purchase. This is where the fallacy of comparing TVs based on a manufacturer dedicated display. First, the remote and the Samsung interface is not at all friendly. Navigation is very cumbersome and takes multiple steps to accomplish what our older TV di easily and in fewer steps. The second concern with this TV is that even on maximum brightness, it is still very dim. If the scene showing is staged at night or in a dark building, it is impossible to see the screen. Even when we turn off all of the lights in the room, it is still not a bright enough image to make out what is being shown. In summary, I plan to purchase a different brand TV in the near future and just take what ever I can get for selling this device. Not at all recommended.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Response from Samsung USBy Samsung AdvisorJune 20, 2025
Hi EON1,

We’re sorry to hear you’re not fully satisfied with the picture quality on your Samsung DU7200 TV. If the image appears too dark, we suggest disabling certain energy-saving features, which can automatically adjust brightness and affect how the screen looks.

Go to: Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Power and Energy Saving, then turn off Brightness Optimization, Energy Saving Solution, Motion Lighting, and/or Contrast Enhancer.

You can also adjust the Picture Mode to better suit your environment: Settings > All Settings > Picture > Picture Mode
• Standard – Default mode for general viewing
• Dynamic – Brighter and clearer, ideal for well-lit rooms
• Movie – Best for dark room viewing
• Eco – Energy-saving mode
• Filmmaker Mode – Preserves content as intended by creators

To fine-tune brightness, go to: Home > left directional key > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Expert Settings, then adjust the Brightness level (0–50) to your preference.

Lastly, please make sure your TV is running the latest firmware: Home > Home > left directional key > Settings > Support > Software Update > Update Now

We hope these tips help improve your viewing experience. If you need further support, feel free to contact us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8AM – 12AM EST, 7 days a week. LiveChat is also available via the ‘Support’ link on our website.

Better picture & sound. I am hearing impaired
on June 20, 2025
Posted by: Carolyn
I bought a Samsung 3 years ago that broke. Since I had a warrenty, the TV was replaced. The sound and picture were better. The problem that I have had is that my first TV had ROKU, which I loved. The replacement TV does not have ROKU and I don't have cable - so I miss a lot of stations that I used to watch. Additionally, the remote control is unpredictable and cumbersom. I miss my old TV and remote and feel a little cheated and find this one frustrating.

Beware the power source and where you plug it

I boughbt 2 units of this particular model, and they were both excellent until the power source on the first purchase died/became unreliable, resulting in the need for a return/refund of the purchase price. Upon review, seems not an uncommon occurrence that is blame on using surge protectors or power strips, of which I'm dubious. The second unit is still going strong, and is plugged into the same model surge protector used in every other room of my house, for every piece of electronic equipment.
