A Nightmare in Some Ways
on March 6, 2025

We bought this last July. It replaced an older Samsung which would no longer support Netflix. It took three months to set up researching what acronyms meant understanding instructions on the TV. The remote was very small with very light print and pretty esoteric design. The little remote disappeared in February and after two months we bought a new “universal” (not quite) remote at. est. us. We also had to get a new Spectrum remote because Spectrum stopped showing up on the TV menu screen. Without the little remote we have no button to select home so we have to turn the TV off and back on to get there. The picture is very clear and the sound is okay but has to be frequently adjusted. ONCE, I found a menu item that let me adjust the sound and I’ve never been able to find it again when searching settings. The home screen is just too full of icons we will never use…not interested in. Recently we lost Netflix from the screen selection. I read online that I could alternatively select the internet and summon Netflix from there. I spent a long time doing that and ultimately it didn’t work; got a message that said, “TV doesn’t support the browser. When I went back to the home screen, Netflix all of a sudden appeared… what the heck? Before we bought the TV we only watched basic cable and Netflix and that is all we really want to do. We would not have bought a new TV if we could have continued getting Netflix on it. In a lot of ways this TV is a nightmare. I managed to get the Samsung Account set up but can’t really see a use for it. I tried to use it two weeks ago but got lost in the jargon. We’re 75 and 76, college educated, my husband was a senior electronics engineer whi is now showing signs of dementia. You need to produce a TV that is simple for people like us or program in a senior mode that we can understand and simply only see Spectrum Cable tv and Netflix.

Hi Beth,
Thank you for your feedback and for letting us know about the difficulties you have had learning the interface of the DU7200 TV. I have a few tips that may help.
First, on your Spectrum remote, you should be able to press the Home or Menu button and it will take you to Samsung Smart Hub. I recommend reaching out to Spectrum if you continue to have issues. You can also utilize this guide we have created: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00089902/
For ease of use, I also recommend turning on the Last App feature to automatically start the last app you used once the TV is turned on. To enable this feature, follow the steps below: 1) Navigate to Settings > All Settings> General > Smart Features > Autorun Smart Hub 2) Enable the Autorun Smart Hub feature 3) Navigate to Settings > General > Smart Features > Autorun Last App 4) Enable the Autorun Last App feature
If you’d like more help with settings, we are always happy to help! Call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Or visit us on the Samsung website and click on the ‘Support’ link for: 1) LiveChat 2) Manuals, Software, & Warranty Info

Hi Debbie,
It's great to hear you are enjoying your new DU7200 TV. If your TV is announcing everything you do, Voice Guide is turned on. Voice Guide is an accessibility function to assist users who are visually impaired. It’s possible you’ve accidentally turned it on by holding down the volume button on your TV remote.
To turn off Voice Guide, navigate to: Home > Menu > Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Accessibility > Voice Guide Settings > Voice Guide.
If you ever have questions or need help, Samsung is here for you! Give us a call at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.
Thanks for being a part of the Samsung family!

This is a surprisingly clear picture TV. I have it hanging on the wall near my work desk and leave it on real time news. Surpising how many apps and places I can navigate to, directly from my TV. Super nice!

Changing to different TV antennas.

The picture is good and it works well but it is hard to change to different HDMI channels or to go to an external antenna. My husband gets frustrated trying to figure it out!
Response from Samsung USBy Samsung Advisor, March 7, 2025
Hi Jan1,
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. To access your antenna, press the Gear Icon on your remote control, scroll up, and choose Source. From there you will need to pick the HDMI that your antenna is connected to.
You can also utilize the Autorun Last App feature to automatically start the last app you used once the TV is turned on.
