Nice pole. I used my old DirecTV base, nuts and bolts. They had a spacer for the middle so you don't crush the tube. The new nuts and bolts looked a little flimsy for my taste. The older stuff had more threads (nuts were wider) So basically I just used the pole. The pole is good. I would recommend to a friend if they had the spare directv mounting hardware available.
I suspended my antenna from the rafters at the top of my attic rather than mounting to the floor, so this style mount did not work. I ended up making a custom mount myself. It would have been fine if I were mounting it to the floor.
We live far, far from a signal yet this works. We receive 18 channels very clearly. Allowed us to turn off cable. Strongest antenna we could find on the market. I installed it myself using existing cable brackets. Great price and service too.
The DB8-E with juice and mount are the best value on the market.Bye Bye satellite bills for ever.Katie and Randy are the best from sales to service. Thanks pros for making this such a great experience.Steve Morgan
All pc's were included, mounted up on my roof , its a solid mount. I did not use it for a TV antenna I used it to mount other material so far its held up fine
This antenna mast is a much different animal than the one that came packaged with the antenna itself. All around heavier gauge tubing and mounting plate. I ordered it because I need the 40 inch length afforded by this version in order to clear my roofline. One thing for antennas direct to consider is offering the customer their choice of mast when they place their initial order (I believe there are three lengths, which include the original). Even if a person had to pay a little more for an upgrade, they'd be better off since they would have the right unit from the beginning, and would avoid the waste of a separate, unusable mast rattling around in the garage or going in the trash.
The mount was easy to install although the directions were not too clear. I tried several different approaches until I was satisfied with the correct method to mount it. To my surprise the anchor bolts were included and self-tapping. It was not clear on where to place a grounding strap. I improvised.
