[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had regular size KitchenAid mixers for years. But the larger size mixer is a necessity in my kitchen
for doubling recipes that require larger bowls and heavy duty mixing. It is best to leave it on a counter because it is very heavy!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great mixer, very quiet, and plenty of room in the bowl! There’s 10 speeds to choose from and you can adjust the bowl height. Can mix dough for 2 dozen cookies no problem, I could probably even do 4 dozen if I needed to. Love it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've always wanted a kitchenaid but never had the space for it, having lived with people my whole life. Finally got my own home and it's the first thing I bought. I love it so much.

Don’t try to make bread with this

It works great for mixing everything except bread dough . I bought it hoping to make large batches of pizza dough and bread dough for our large family. The motor gets hot and it won’t knead for more than 2-3 minutes.

Not what Kitchen Aid thinks it is!

Trouble from the beginning with managing the lift bowl-spring lock. Very difficult. getting bowl on the lock; not at all easy to release the bowl. Last time my husband had to snap the bowl in place. Getting it back off was extremely difficult for him and he is not weakling! So it sits unused. We are debating trying to deal with Kitchen Aid, or seeing if the spring lock can be persuaded to work or putting the whole thing in the landfill. any suggestions, folks?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let me first admit: I've been a Kitchenaid Artisan girl for a long time... been through 3 iterations of them, each of which upgrading was a preference, not a breakdown issue. I've been very happy with artisan's performance and have used them heavily by themselves and with a plethora of attachments from meat grinding to zucchini noodles and everything in between. But one fateful evening, I listened over dinner with a coworker over how she bought a Kitchenaid Pro and "everything's better, bread is fantastic, cookie dough superior, blah blah blah." This went on for much longer than I thought it should have! But, yes, when it was time to do another upgrade, I jumped on the Kitchenaid Pro Boat to check it out. I really had no specific reason I needed the upgrade, more curiosity than anything else, and I truly didn't expect to find anything much different from my artisan that I've loved for so long.
Yes, I understand why my friend went on and on about it now. Just Wow! Its quite hard to describe without someone just using it, but she was completely correct - the home recipe batter that I've been making for years came out with a FAR superior texture. I have many people in my family with health conditions that require very specific diets, leading me to create some very strange cakes that are devoid of sugar, and most things that make cakes easy to make - so they tend to come out rather strangely too. Using this Pro Line Bowl lift 7 Quart, I've had them come out as close to actual "normal" cakes as Ive ever seen! (any one who makes crazy diet restriction treats knows this is quite an accomplishment.) Making Bread dough with this has been a game changer too, this machine couldn't be more stable while working on my challah bread (of course, best french toast ever!) It feels like this thing could run all day without blinking an eye, the only problem I've had with it was that I didn't realize I wasn't clicking the bowl fully on the machine in the back (It has a divitt on the back of the pot that goes into a hole on the back, which makes it super sturdy. I was just laying it on until I thought it felt secure, leading me to hear a clicking sound when it was on. I felt super silly after I realized what I did, but when clicked in properly it runs effortlessly. I also must admit, I overuse the double flex edge attachment - it's just so satisfying to see it mix up absolutely every last molecule in the bowl :) By far, this is the best experience I've had with mixers, and if you're even slightly considering going with the pro, take the leap. It's just plain shocking to see how the extra power improves everything!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first KitchenAid mixer with the lift design. Right out of the box, it's heavy - certainly not light weight. The build is slender without being wide, so it takes up less counter space. I had to use a little force to push to bowl onto the back base. Removing it is as easy as lifting it up. IMO, using the lever to lift the bowl is superior to the tilt heads since it doesn't require locking or constant tilting. The lever adjusts the bowl in one swift motion. I use the 7 qt bowl which feels light in my hands. On speeds 2 - 4, it mixed brownie batter in under 20 seconds. The paddle reached completely to the bottom. I didn't need to do any adjusting or scraping. All of the ingredients mixed from top to bottom. This is ideal for large batches. It will do the work for you and give your arms a break. For smaller batches, it will combine your ingredients efficiently and you won't need much interference. I recommend for those with arthritis. I'd also keep it on the counter rather than pulling randomly as it's quite heavy.
PROS: Sturdy, slender build, large capacity, no scraping required, low sound, fast speeds, pro at mixing heavy ingredients.
