[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm have a mix of hard wood floors and carpet with multi levels; combine that with cats, pets, step kids, and guests, my floors always need attention. I have a busy schedule and dont want cleaning to be a chore. Hoover has always been a dependable brand. This model takes what always worked and adds a modern twist found in recent newer brands. The pieces are easy to keep clean and empty the dirt container. It's a good size and fits well into corners and small spaces. It has a good suction power.

Great suction, but with missing important feature

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product has great suction and roller power, and the adjustable head depth makes cleaning my rugs easy, but there is no way I have found to turn off the power head. The unit damaged a portion of my rug when trying to use the hose attachment on my sofa, and with no way to turn off the power head I can't use this unit on my hard surface floors without risking damage to them. I would not recommend this for someone with more hard surfaces than soft surfaces.

I love that this vacuum has decent suction and is lightweight. What I hate is the belt!! I've had this vacuum for less than a year, and have had to replace the belt 5 times already!! Such a nuisance!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love my Hoover Vacuum! I can honestly say this is by far the best vacuum I've ever used/owned!! My home is 1/2 carpet/rugs and 1/2 hardwood/tile floors, and this vacuum does an amazing job of cleaning EVERY type of flooring in my house. I was shocked because usually when I try to use a vacuum on non-carpeted areas it will vibrate and blow the dirt/dust all around and only suck up part of it. I usually have to follow the vacuum with a broom and dustpan on those floors in order to actually get them cleaned. However that is definitely not the case with this vacuum; it actually does a great job on all floors no matter what type they are. Plus with the attachments I'm finally able to easily clean the cat hair & cookie crumbs left behind by my kids off of the couches and chairs. I even use it to clean our vehicles and now their floors and seats have never looked cleaner. I also love how easy it is to maneuver around the house. It's able to swivel and turn so I can reach everywhere I need to vacuum. It has actually cut my daily/normal routine cleaning time almost in half!! It's just an all around fantastic vacuum that puts every other vacuum to shame. Aside from doing its job exceedingly well, it also has a great sleek design that I love. It's fairly lightweight so it's easy to carry up and down stairs and easy to put away in the closet as it doesn't take up much space. And it comes pretty much already put together as you can see in the pic with it disassembled; that's exactly how it looked coming straight from the box. Which was great because sometimes I hate getting an item and then before I can even use it I have to put it together and have to figure out what goes where and how it goes there. I liked that I pretty much just took it out of the box and clicked a couple pieces together and I was ready to go. Finally aside from how well it cleans, my other favorite thing about this vacuum is how simple and non-messy it is to empty out. The canister pops out easily and you just dump it and then if you're like me you can even rinse it off so it stays looking super clean. And the filters are pretty easy to clean as well. It's just a fantastic vacuum that I would recommend to anyone! I have absolutely no complaints. PROS: -Cleans all types of flooring very well -Great attachments for cleaning furniture, vehicles, stairs, etc. -Easy & mess-free canister that's very simple to empty -Swivels & turns easily so you can reach almost any area without issue -Lightweight & doesn't take up much space -Sleek & modern design CONS: -None

Wonderful Multi-Surface Vacuum

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was quite skeptical of Hoover products but I am very impressed by the Hoover Elite Swivel Upright Vacuum. I have two very active children as well as a cat and dog who shed profusely. I have very high standards and need products that can do it all. The Hoover vacuum cleaned all the way to my baseboards on my hardwoods floors without me having to use a hand attachment much to my surprise. It picked up equally as well on my tile and area rugs without missing a beat. The best feature is hair doesn't stick to the roller and impede it's function. The powerful suction even picked up drywall dust the contractor's vacuum and my Dyson left behind. My only wish is that the floor height settings were controlled by a foot switch like the power button vs a knob. If that isn't a deal breaker I recommend this vacuum for anyone who needs a great multi-surface vacuum.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ok lets be real... i have 2 dogs and 2 toddlers. Dog hairs, snacks, crushed who knows what is part of my life and part of our home. But I like a clean house. Using the Hoover Elite Swivel Upright Vaccuum has been just what I needed for our carpeted upstairs rooms. The swiveling action to change directions is super smooth. The suction power and lack of bags is perfect for a busy house. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars was because it doesnt have as many attachments and it doesnt self propel making a little heavier to push and pull. Due to the lack of attachments I wont me using it on my stairs. The pictures were a before and after of homemade kinetic flour based sand gone wrong for my toddlers. Cue face palm. But I used the attachment tool and it was super easy and good as new. I was please pleasantly surprised on the suction! Pros: - Suction power a major plus - Swiveling action makes it super easy to change directions - Larger canister making less trips to empty - cord length (i could plug in and vacuum all 4 rooms and hallway upstairs without having to change plugs) Cons: - only 3 included attachments (2 being the same kind on thin long tubes) - no self-propelling making it a little heavier to push and pull. Bottomline, its a great powerful compact full size vacuum. This is gonna permanently live upstairs in my home.

The only bad thing that happened was upon opening the clip that attached the lid to the canister where the dirt goes broke off. It still worked properly and very well. I'd still recommend this Vaccum

Amazing Suction and Hair Management

My children and pets have very long hair that even the most expensive vacuum can't handle despite weekly roller cleaning. I didn't have much hope for the Hoover Elite but this machine tackles hair like a boss on hard and carpeted surfaces. The power cord is very low on the machine and can get tangled in the wheels if you don't manage the cord carefully otherwise this is my go to vacuum.
