Picks up the dog hair my other vacuum left behind

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This vacuum was very easy to use straight out of the box. No assembly required. My carpets were just vacuumed and I was shocked at how much dog hair it collected. The see through canister makes it easy to see just how much dirt you've swept up. The hose attachment was easy to use, however I found it to be not long enough to reach in high spots. For that reason, I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

Okay But Improvements Needed to be Great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this vacuum to try on my different floors. I have laminate wood, carpet, tile and rugs in my home. The vacuum does a decent job on most of these surfaces but some improvements are needed to make this a great product. I first noticed this does not have an onboard light at the front. I really missed this because we have a lot of trees around the house and it can be pretty dark. I had to turn on all the lights to make sure I didn't vacuum anything up accidently. Not a big deal but something to keep in mind. I noticed this vacuum seems pretty loud. I actually wore ear plugs while vacuuming because of the noise. Something to keep in mind if you are sensitive to noise. Another feature that could be improved is the knob to change between different floors is all the way down at the bottom of the vacuum. I feel this would be a lot more convenient if it was closer to the handle. I you have multiple types of floors, like I do, this gets annoying. I wasn't able to use this on my stairs because the hose is too short to reach all the stairs and I didn't want to balance the vacuum on each step. So although it has a few different attachments, they weren't useful to me on the stairs. When you place the vacuum in the upright position while it is running, the brushes/roller keeps moving. This is something that isn't good for wood or laminate floors at all. It would be helpful if they stopped moving when in that position. One last thing that needs improvement and what I have attached in the photo. The bottom of the vacuum slopes up so it is impossible to run the vacuum parallel to cabinets. I was able to run the vacuum perpendicular to the cabinets and furniture but the back was too tall to fit under going parallel. Again, not a huge deal but definitely takes more time to vacuum. The vacuum is easy to move on hard surfaces and pretty easy on carpets. On rugs it scooted my rugs all over the place which is annoying. I felt that it did a pretty good job cleaning but did have a hard time picking up the lightweight kitty litter. I like how big the canister is and it is easy to remove. The canister holds a lot, more than other vacuums I think. Sometimes debris would get stuck at the top and then you have to open the top part of the canister. That requires an additional step and needs to be lined up properly to be put back together. This could be a nice vacuum if some things are improved. It would also work well in a home without stairs and few to no different surfaces.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great for hardwood and carpets but its loud.

I like that there is a dial to adjust to different lengths of carpet and hardwood flooring. I also like how easy it is to empty the cannister, since it empties from the bottom. I did not like though how loud and kind of bulky this vacuum was. Its hard getting into corners and the attachment hose is a bit too short. Other then that its a great vacuum and the I find all the attachments very useful.

Good vacuum, decent attachments, difficult to empty

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] * heavier than our previous vacuum cleaner, but easier to push. * Please just as well as our last vacuum cleaner, seems to pick up everything. * suction seems to be a little better than our previous vacuum cleaner. * clogs in the hose seem easier to remove. * noise level is about the same as our last vacuum cleaner. * much more difficult to empty out dust receptacle the previous vacuum cleaner taking the top off leads to dust getting everywhere. My previous vacuum cleaner has a spring match for both the top and the bottom making it much easier to empty. * no pet hair attachment like my previous vacuum cleaner.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you've got multiple surfaces, the Hoover Elite Swivel is the way to go! It has many features and I'm very impressed. To start, it came well packaged and was easy to unbox. The unit includes a edge cleaning and upholstery cleaning attachments for use on the extended hose cleaner. The vacuum uses a bag-less design that is super easy to see when its full and very easy to empty. The beater brush bar does edge-to-edge coverage to get the corners of the floor without issue. For filters, it has a main hepa filter, and a pre filter. both are easily accessible and easy to clean. the pre filter is washable. Overall this vaccuum does a excellent job of getting our dogs hair up off the carpet as well as our hard flooring. I am very happy with with it and would choose this again in the future.

Great suction, smooth operation

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This vacuum offered better suction than other vacuums I've used. It seemed to get more out of our carpet faster and with less repetition. It did a great job of picking up cat hair and even the long hairs we usually find from me and my daughter. I also have a toddler who leaves a trail of snacks everywhere he goes, and this vacuum worked wonderfully to find and pick those up from the floor. I really liked the swivel functionality as it allowed me to get into corners and under furniture easier without moving everything. I would buy this again and highly recommend it to friends and family.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think the Hoover Elite Swivel Upright Vacuum is a great product. It was very easy to use and maneuver around the house. The suction power on it was great. I like that it has adjustable height levels for different floor types. I really like the hose feature on it as well, it works a lot better than my more expensive vacuum does. It's very easy to empty the canister once full. Overall it's a great vacuum.
