Buyer beware. I literally used this vacuum one time before it gave out on me. Lights went out, power died down and then it started to smell like something was burning. Unplugged it checked for jams or anything that may solve the problem. Everything appeared ok at first glance but when I removed the HEPA filter and powered it back on I could see that the motor was sparking. This is a major concern for me. Huge fire issue.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Zero stars if I could. The worst vacuum I have ever owned.

This vacuum is an absolute piece of trash, and Hoover's 'service offerings' not much better. I bought this vacuum in November 2022 and should have know something was amiss when the belt roller would not spin out of the box. Yesterday I tried to use it and again the roller would not spin. I removed to cover to discover the belt stuck to the roller from it having melted, and the other half barely on the metal pin. After getting the belt unstuck from the roller I turn the machine on and it emits smoke. I then spend the next 30 minutes on hold with a chat agent who begins to register my ticket only to disconnect within 5 minutes. As I try to reach an agent again the chat function says all agents are busy and posts a message to email or call. It then cuts me off. I'm done. I am returning this garbage for a refund.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted to give this Hoover vacuum a fair shot, I have had a more expensive vacuum for the past 2 years after having many budget friendly ones before and getting frustrated having to replace them so much. I thought the look of this vacuum and the swivel feature were nice, as was the way the crevice tool is stored and attached, but that's about where the pros end for me. Putting it together was easy, but as far as cleaning the vrush roll, that would not be. There are 7 screws that would have to be removed to do so. The hose that the attachments go to is very short and so you can't reach very far up for say, a ceiling fan or corner. I also found the suction to not be great with the hose and crevice tool when trying it on baseboards and in corners. This vacuum has no lights on it which, most ones I've had do, which may not be a big deal for some but I am used to having them and on hardwood floors they show the dog hair better so that was a huge downside for me personally. This vacuum is pretty loud, and the heated air that comes out is also not a great feature, but most of the other vacuums I had in this price point and less were the exact same way so that was kind of expected. The vacuum itself I tested on hardwood,tile and rugs. My rugs are all very low pile, so that was the setting I put it on for them. It did glide the first few pushes but then on about the 3rd or 4th one, it would stuck badly, and it took both arms and a lot of strength to make it move forward again. I had my 20 year old son come and try as well, he thought it was locked or something because it was so hard, but we didn't see anything that locked it into place so we just don't know why this happened, however it happened every single time I used the low carpet setting. I tried to use the medium setting and it just didn't pick up much. The other settings were fine, just the low, and even on an almost completely flat rug that is woven and has no actual pile to it, it did the same thing. Maybe this particular vacuum is defective, I don't really know, but it was definitely an issue. After vacuuming with this, even after having to go over some areas 2 or 3 times, there was still visible dog hair and rope strings (from the dog toys). I decided to take out my current vacuum and go over the exact same areas I had just used this Hoover on, and the results I will share in pictures with you because it says it all. I do have 3 dogs, and live in a rural area that I feel causes more dried mud / dirt to be tracked in, but the amount that my current vacuum picked up after the effort and time I spent vacuuming with the Hoover was just unbelievable, and pretty gross. I looked up the retail on this and it was between $149-$189 depending on where, and seeing as how my current was around the $289 mark and my previous budget friendly ones were always under $100, I would say spend the extra to get a nicer model from another brand or maybe Hoover makes a better model than this. I have had other Hoover ones and they didn't seem this bad, even the bagged ones. I had a Hoover before I got my current Shark and I did the same test back then, and the Hoover didn't leave that much behind (it was a bagged model, not sure if that makes a difference or not). I did receive this item as a part of a promotional incentive, but I wanted to be absolutely, 100% honest and thorough with my review because I know when you're looking for your home appliances, they can be big purchases and you need them to not only last but work for you. I wanted to love ot, but unfortunately it just didn't perform.

I got this one to replace the one that gave out after 3 years of use (well only the roller quit working--no belt ...). I'm a bit frustrated. Hard to push; brush stops rolling at certain levels even though I want it rolling at all except non carpet. awkward turn on and then step on for head. also the manual is skimpy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the most powerful vacuum I think I have EVER owned. I've never seen a vacuum suck up so much from my floors. I've pretty much always used Hoovers but I've had a few others too. Honestly Hoovers are WAY SUPERIOR to the the competition including those super high dollar ones (Kirby's) which I also use out in my man cave. I underestimated the power in this vacuum and I'm certainly glad I did. It has run circles around ANYTHING I have used before. Most vacuums that say they are for pets are usually just blowin smoke. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used this vacuum several times now, and couldn't be happier. It does an excellent job at getting even the tough to pick-up stuff on the first go. We have a dog, and it has managed the dog hair perfectly. I've even used it in our sunroom, where I keep our animal feed and supplies (we also have chickens), and no problems whatsoever. It gets super close to baseboards and walls, and has great suction.
I would recommend this to a friend!
