Great suction, but with missing important feature

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product has great suction and roller power, and the adjustable head depth makes cleaning my rugs easy, but there is no way I have found to turn off the power head. The unit damaged a portion of my rug when trying to use the hose attachment on my sofa, and with no way to turn off the power head I can't use this unit on my hard surface floors without risking damage to them. I would not recommend this for someone with more hard surfaces than soft surfaces.

Excellent Vacuum

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Hoover Elite Swivel Upright Vacuum is one of the best that I have ever used, It has excellent suction power and the tools are very versatile. I do not have carpets in my home but it worked wonderfully on my laminate and marble floors. The canister is very easy to clean and reattach. The attachment brush can be adjusted for hard-to-reach places, the bristles are very dense, flexible, and do not deform. The swivel action is better than my current Bissell vacuum. It is very cost-effective and not too bulky. The only thing I would change is that it does not have a retractable cord, but I still gave it a 5-star review because its other benefits outweigh the one drawback. I definitely recommend it to friends and family, as a matter of fact, my cousin is getting married and this is what I am buying her whether she likes it or not : )

Amazing Suction and Hair Management

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a busy guy with not a lot of time to clean between pets, kids, and working from home. My children and pets have very long hair that even the most expensive vacuum can't handle despite weekly roller cleaning. I didn't have much hope for the Hoover Elite but this machine tackles hair like a boss on hard and carpeted surfaces. The power cord is very low on the machine and can get tangled in the wheels if you don't manage the cord carefully otherwise this is my go to vacuum.

Wonderful Multi-Surface Vacuum

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was quite skeptical of Hoover products but I am very impressed by the Hoover Elite Swivel Upright Vacuum. I have two very active children as well as a cat and dog who shed profusely. I have very high standards and need products that can do it all. The Hoover vacuum cleaned all the way to my baseboards on my hardwoods floors without me having to use a hand attachment much to my surprise. It picked up equally as well on my tile and area rugs without missing a beat. The best feature is hair doesn't stick to the roller and impede it's function. The powerful suction even picked up drywall dust the contractor's vacuum and my Dyson left behind. My only wish is that the floor height settings were controlled by a foot switch like the power button vs a knob. If that isn't a deal breaker I recommend this vacuum for anyone who needs a great multi-surface vacuum.

Hoover Vacuum

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When looking for the right vacuum, i think it should be taken seriously... it is an investment! So we want to make sure we get the biggest bang for our buck and of course something that is going to last a long time! This vacuum has exceeded every one of my explications. It is on the heavy side, BUT it is NOT hard to push. Comes with different tools to use for surferses other than the floor. It has a washable filter and is bagless. The contents of the vaccum are removed with one push of a button. When it comes to suction... this vaccumm has a LOT of it! I would recomment this product to any and everyone. 10 out of 10 stars for me!

Decent Big Vacuum

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We received the vacuum to review as a part of a BzzAgent campaign. On receipt of the vacuum, we unboxed it to get it ready for its first use. Our initial thoughts on it were that the plastic components of the vacuum felt flimsy and a bit low-cost, but ultimately this did not present future issues. There was minimal assembly needed to put the vacuum in working order, and we were quickly off and using it. After using it a few times, as well as comparing it to our existing vacuum, we found that it has several very strong points, and several weaknesses. To its strengths - The vacuum does seem to have very strong suction, and did not leave any dirt behind. The power cord is very long, and allowed for us to cover most of our main level from one central outlet. The vacuum also has a massive catch for all the debris/dirt it sucked up, allowing for us to easily clean the entire main level without having to empty it. The attachments are conveniently stored as well. There are a couple weaknesses as well - The vacuum is big, and while this isn't a major issue, it does make for it to be a bit cumbersome in tighter spaces. Also, the way the cord attaches to the vacuum to keep it off the ground is inconvenient, especially if you need to detach the hose for accessory use. The clip for this also didn't hold the cord well, with it popping out during use. That said, the biggest issue that this vacuum has is that it is ineffective in capturing "debris" from corners and edges. Crumbs against the wall were left behind by the vacuum after several passes, and ultimately the wand attachment was necessary to capture it. All in all, 3.5 out of 5.

Never going back to my broom!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am absolutely in love with this vacuum! I have mostly hardwood floors and some rugs and the fact that this vacuum has a hard floor option it cuts an extra step I had to take between cleaning rugs and cleaning the hard floors! The extra extension pieces allow me to clean tight corners and gaps in floor boards and I love that the vacuum itself is flexible and turns side to side easily. The suction is pretty strong as it was lifting my rug clear off the floor so I had to hold it down. I highly recommend this vacuum to anyone who needs a vacuum that can clean all surfaces!

Bulky but Powerful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This vacuum is a little bit hard to manage when trying to go under furniture or tight spaces, but the suction power is great especially on my carpets. We have three cats and it made the rugs look way better! I like the attachment pieces and the stretch hose which makes it easy to do the furniture and under things. I like how big the canister is that holds the dust as well. You can vacuum for a bit of time without needing to empty it. I'm not sure how it is to clean the filters because I didn't need to yet, but it looks like it will be easy. It has a bit of weight to it but I've definitely tried other vacuums like this that were even heavier. I feel this vacuum is pretty compact for being a normal upright bag less vacuum.
