This product is made of cheap plastic! I would not recommend it at all. The knob in which you turn to elevate the vacuum based on your carpet height does not work at all and is poorly designed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I am 100% in favor of this vacuum. It has great suction. I am only unhappy that it doesn't have a light. Have been a Hoover fan for years, but this is the best yet.

Nice vacuum with a down side

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We primarily have hardwood and linolium flooring in our house with a few rugs. This vacuum worked wonderfully on the rugs, but I was disappointed with how it worked on the other flooring. At first, it was great and I was excited. After a few times of use, it started acting like most others where it spit and scattered stuff all over. It would be better if there were a setting where the beater brush didn't run to allow for use on non-carpet areas. We are in the process of getting a new house, which will have some carpeting and I do look forward to using this vacuum in our new place!

Swivel Swivel Swivel!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ok lets be real... i have 2 dogs and 2 toddlers. Dog hairs, snacks, crushed who knows what is part of my life and part of our home. But I like a clean house. Using the Hoover Elite Swivel Upright Vaccuum has been just what I needed for our carpeted upstairs rooms. The swiveling action to change directions is super smooth. The suction power and lack of bags is perfect for a busy house. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars was because it doesnt have as many attachments and it doesnt self propel making a little heavier to push and pull. Due to the lack of attachments I wont me using it on my stairs. The pictures were a before and after of homemade kinetic flour based sand gone wrong for my toddlers. Cue face palm. But I used the attachment tool and it was super easy and good as new. I was please pleasantly surprised on the suction! Pros: - Suction power a major plus - Swiveling action makes it super easy to change directions - Larger canister making less trips to empty - cord length (i could plug in and vacuum all 4 rooms and hallway upstairs without having to change plugs) Cons: - only 3 included attachments (2 being the same kind on thin long tubes) - no self-propelling making it a little heavier to push and pull. Bottomline, its a great powerful compact full size vacuum. This is gonna permanently live upstairs in my home.

Buyer beware for ruggable and synthetic fiber carpetd

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There is so much I like about this carpet and so much I absolutely hate.. If you have indestructible carpets that can take a beating and need to be deep cleaned then by all means this is the vacuum for you. However if you have a ruggable or any other type of carpet that is made with synthetic fibers and is even remotely meltable, Don't even think about considering this vacuum. The beater brush on this vacuum is so strong and so stiff I understand their claim of deep cleaning, However, I have a ruggable And it damaged my rug while trying to use the hose attachment. The belt never disengages even if it's fully upright and at the longest/tallest rug setting. It damaged my area rug while testing the hose attachments. I will say, it does a great job on our beat up carpeted second floor. But I am very weary of using it as we have two small kids and after seeing what it did to my rug I am scared of what it could do to their fingers

Excellent vacuum

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used this vacuum several times now, and couldn't be happier. It does an excellent job at getting even the tough to pick-up stuff on the first go. We have a dog, and it has managed the dog hair perfectly. I've even used it in our sunroom, where I keep our animal feed and supplies (we also have chickens), and no problems whatsoever. It gets super close to baseboards and walls, and has great suction.

Nice Vaccum

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this Vaccum as it's very easy to use and does it's job as advertised! The only bad thing that happened was upon opening the clip that attached the lid to the canister where the dirt goes broke off. It still worked properly and very well. I'd still recommend this Vaccum
