[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's easy to empty, but no more so than others. The tools are decent, but the hose could be more flexible and 6" longer. The electrical cord is an acceptable length and the winding harness is well placed and spaced. Other than that, it's frail, poorly built, awkward to use, and has mediocre suction. The foot power button is weird as you have to turn it on by stepping on it and then step on it again to dislodge the head. The head spins even when the vacuum is in the upright position so we have to constantly step on the vacuum cleaner (not good for its lifetime) to toggle it on/off while we move something, etc. Edge suction, which was specifically promoted in advertising, is no better than our old vacuum that has no edge suction and broken hoses. Light objects (pet hair, bits of fluff, etc) are immediately sucked up to the air exhaust, blocking air flow and lowering suction. It lacks features found on other comparably priced vacuums (roller off, headlight, easy to reach buttons, a more ergonomic handle.) Our next vacuum, which will probably be in a year or two, will likely not be a Hoover unless models improve significantly for their price point.

Falls apart quick

Machine picks up great but falls apart very easily. Has tons of power to clean up pet hair. I would say the only downfall is when you pull the vacuum on the backward pass the handle falls out about 95% of the time. For the price this isn't worth it. The handle doesn't screw in. Just pops in and out with a metal button. I've only had it three days and am returning it today due to this issue. If Hoover removes the button lock and give you a screw to hold the handle on I would have given this 5 stars. Def needs to be improved in in that sense.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

WHAT A DUST AND DIRT SUCKER

Its worth more than its cost. Sucks dirty up and stirs the fibers superbly. Makes the fibers fluffier and by removing more dirt the fibers are cleaner and much easier to do a rug shampoo. This vacuum exceeds my Miele witch cost hundreds more. Other vacuums move and handle easier but don't clean as well as this, especially for the cost.

Here are some helpful tips to improve the suction: check to see if the filter or nozzle is clogged. Turn off the unit and disconnect the nozzle to remove the debris. Also check the hose for any built up debris, and use the handle of a broom to remove. After checking the hose, please be sure to securely connect the hose to your vacuum. We also recommend checking the filter by removing it from your vacuum and tapping out any built up dirt/debris that could be resting on it. Rinse the filter with water until the water runs clear and allow a dry time of 24-36 hours. - OR - We recommend checking to see if your filter is clogged. Turn off the unit and disconnect the nozzle to remove any debris. While you have the filter removed rinse it with water until the water runs clear, allow dry time (24-36 hours).
