Ive had my carpet cleaner for about a month. Ive used it a few times. It doesnt scrub carpets the way I thought it would. Not a very deep clean. I have also used the attachments to clean my furniture. Same issue....and the suction with the hand held attachments was absolutely horrible! Price wise wasnt too bad. I guess I didnt lose too much money.....but i dont feel it was worth the money either. I wouldnt buy again or recommend.

Please check that the dirty water tank lid is firmly locked down onto the tank, and the whole tank is seated into the unit correctly. This will ensure that there is no air leak, which would cause suction to lessen. Also, please check to see that your suction nozzle is installed onto the machine correctly. The new features like being able to open and remove the brushes for cleaning / rinsing is nice. However the wet/dry feature doesn't work well. I purchased this due to the great reviews regarding the dry feature. The drying doesn't work that well and the carpet is still fairly wet. I believe my shopvac has more suction. It would be nice to have some control on areas that require more shampoo. You'll have to pre treat.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Here's a helpful tip: for full suction, it's important that the Dirty Water Tank is properly secured before cleaning. When your cleaning is complete and you want to reduce the dry time, press the Dry Only button. The Dry Only mode will extract remaining water from your carpet. I bought this a couple of weeks to replace an old Hoover carpet cleaner that was it in its last leg. I did a bit of research and came across the SmartWash. I like that it was compact in view of moving to a small 1 condo in the Bay Area where space is premium. Additionally, that all the parts could be clean with ease, especially the carpet rollers which my old one you really could not easily remove. Anyway, I purchased it and was really impressed at the ease of use and also that it perfectly removed old stains in the apartment unit I had moved in and told the rental lease office. One thing I was hesitant was so negative reviews in terms of ability to lift stains, etc. I can only advise you is to go slow and let the machine do the driving, rushing the job will not

When I First Got My Hoover Smart Wash Carpet Cleaner I Was Beyond Anxious To Get To Use It. The Box It Comes In Shows A Picture of Exactly What It Looks Like And Has Lots Of Different Details Posted. It Does Require Some Assembly But Nothing That Is Hard At All. But Comes With A Step By Step Detailed Pictured Instructions. Its Super Light Weight. I was Easily Able To Lift It And Carry It Around With One Hand. To Say This Thing Cleans Better Than Any Other Car Cleaner Ive Used Is An Understatement. And Every Other Carpet Cleaner Ive Used, It Always Uses The Carpet Cleaner Up Super Quick. Thats Not The Case With This One, The Cleaning Solution Lasts Forever It Seems. I love that when using it, you dont have to push the button to put the solution of water and cleaner down on the floor. It's so easy. Forward is to despense and backward is to suck it back up. And then the button you push for heat helps dry it almost isntantly. It comes with a hose and attachments too. I used it to clean my whole suv interior and i swear it looks like a brand new vehicle. So if your in the market for a carpet cleaner that works better than the rest, this is the option to go with!! You will be flad you did!

I have not been this excited about a carpet cleaner in forever. This was by far, the easiest to use with the BEST results. My floor dried in half the time it normally does due to the function of pulling back to dry. We are a heavy traffic pet family and our carpet can get pretty gross. I am amazed at how well this worked. It felt like professionals did the job. It pairs well with the pretreat and carpet cleaning solutions as well. I would highly recommend this item. I even let my 70 year old mom borrow it and she even loved it and said it was easy to function (and she can't lift heavy things so most things like this she isn't able to do)
