When I say it cleans it all, it cleans it all. Do not be afraid to tackle any ground in or long term stain. It's about the cleaning solution and the machine. Hoover you have out done yourself, you have found harmony between machine and solution. Thank you thank you thank you! I love this Hoover and thank you for the clean house! P.S. The heating mechanism on that drying cycle. I mean within 30 minutes walk bare foot on clean carpet.

I love my smart wash plus automatic carpet cleaner! I use it weekly to keep my carpets fresh and healthy for our 7 month old and toddlers to crawl around on. It deep cleans and gets rid of any stains, spills from the kids, and keeps the carpet fresh! It has a powerful suction. It is easy to use and quick. My carpet is a year old and with 3 kids in the house it still looks brand new because of this carpet cleaner!!!!

I loved this vacuum for an entire year, happily cleaning the area rugs in our home several times each. I purchased it immediately after borrowing a friends rug vac, and though "Wow! What a difference it makes in the vibrancy and cleanliness of our antique rugs!" However, I made the mistake of using the hose attachment to clean that car seats recently, and since then the suction has never been the same. The dirty water chamber used to have 10x the amount of water and I fear the vacuum is leaving my rugs wetter than before.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi MissLew, thank you for reviewing the Hoover SmartWash Automatic Carpet Cleaner. We are here to help! We recommend checking to make sure your filter is clean of any built up debris or clogs. Turn your cleaner off and unplug it from the electrical outlet. Grab the dirty water tank handle and pull up to release and then remove the tank from the carpet cleaner base at an angle. Place on a flat surface and unlatch the dirty water tank lid to remove the top of the tank. Empty the tank and then rinse and wipe the filter clean. Be sure to allow it to air dry! This carpet cleaner did an excellent job on my carpet. I did pretreat the stains as i have always done with other carpet cleaners i have owned but the end result after using the Hoover Smartwash far exceeded my other ones. This one cleaned my carpets better than any other i have used not to mention its its pretty lightweight too. It also has a dryer feature on it which left my carpets and rugs dryer than other cleaners have which meant completely dry carpets a lot sooner. Another great feature is how easy this machine is to clean. This saves me a lot of time and is without a doubt a welcomed feature. My carpet looks great. I am very impressed with this cleaner and glad i made this purchase.
