I just bought this last week. Used it yesterday to clean about 1000 sq feet of carpet. I washed once and rinsed once. Today my carpet looks amazing. I had a Hoover Platinum Plus cleaner until it died. Hoover replaced it under warranty. But they no long made the cleaner that died. Didn't particularly like the replacement. So I tried a Bissell. I liked it or so I thought. They Bissell left my carpet too wet. So much so it developed a few lumps. I saw the advertisement for this cleaner. Loved the auto mix. Its light weight and easy to use. I cleaned it today. Also a breeze. Not so sure I like the button for dry only. Too often when I needed to go forward I had to hit dry only as to not put down more water. I personally would prefer a trigger to dispense water and solution. I also would recommend a light to show when the water is gone. The Platinum had those if I remember right. I am taking the Bissell back this weekend.

Well, I've had a number of carpet cleaners through the years and this is the best one yet. It looks like Hoover really did put the engineering staff to work and they addressed every single problem I've ever had with carpet cleaners through the years and fixed it with this model. There are so many things right with this carpet cleaner they are almost too numerous to mention. Start with the two-large separately driven roller brushes and the ease of taking the front works apart and cleaning it after use; the long power cord; the separately stowed hand cleaning brushes and hose; the ease of emptying the waste water tank and filling the fresh water tank. The separate solution tank is great; plus the machine doesn't throw down copious amounts of suds or water. Did I mention it cleans carpet great !!!! It sucks up almost everything it puts down. Everybody knows it's not about how much water you can lay down- it's about how much you can pick up and this one does a fine job of that. After an hour the carpet was almost ready to use. When you want to empty the tanks just tip them upside down; no more wild gyrations with tilting and shaking the tanks to get them emptied. So - I guess you could say I like the SMARTWASH a lot.

I just bought this carpet cleaner last night, ABSOLUTELY LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, IT!!! It does a fabulous job, extremely easy to use, assemble, & it is very easy to clean the the nozzle & brushes. It cleaned better than Anything I've ever used and the concept of rinse after is visibly a plus and worthy to a mention of how easy it is.
