Had it less then 8 months and it does not suck up the water on the return , it lets out MORE water. VERY disapointed in the product for the price I paid.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this in mid July, and it's one of the best purchases that I've ever made! The Hoover SmartWash+ Automatic Carpet Cleaner is so easy to put together and use. It's extremely simple to add the solution, water, and clean out the dirty water tank. It's not hard to push, and I couldn't believe the dirt that came out. I love that it has attachments for furniture and hard to reach places. One of my favorite features is the dry only button/option. It really gets that excess water out of the carpeting. It has completely cleaned some really tough cat hair ball stains that I was having a hard time getting out. I absolutely love this machine, and I've recommended it to family and friends! What a great value!

I personally didn't buy one but my boss did. I have used several carpet shampoo vacuums (I clean for private homes and resorts) and no other one works even close to how awesome this one does. It's so easy to clean and put back together. It dries the carpet almost all the way dry even if you get it super wet. It took out stain that were there for years. It actually makes shampooing your carpet fun. I love it.

I have used many other carpet cleaners in the past, including an older Hoover that I loved, but could no longer order parts for, so I thought I'd try this. I purchased this 4 months ago and have had to use it many times! SO much easier to use, much easier to clean and does a fantastic job on my carpets and upholstery (I have 5 dogs and a cat) . Even made my parent's and daughter's carpets and upholstery look like new again! (My daughter has 5 kids, 3 dogs and a cat). Highly recommend this particular carpet cleaner. Rugs come out clean, and dries within 2 hours! (I use the dry only button to soak up any extra water.) It's true what they say, it's as easy as vacuuming your rug with an upright vacuum cleaner!

I have several Hoover products. I have a Hoover Steamvac Widepath that is about 20 years old. It still clean well, but is very heavy to use. I really did not need another carpet cleaner, but I was sold when I read that the washing head came apart for cleaning. I purchased it last spring but never used it until now due to some home improvement projects. It was so easy to use, I not only did the whole house (living room, dining room, family room and 4 bedrooms), I did the family room twice! I am extremely pleased with the results. The whole machine came apart for cleaning (this is a big deal for me). It is now clean and ready for the next time. My carpets look perfect and my house is ready for holiday decorating. I would highly recommend this carpet cleaner to anyone. I am extremely picky, but I am also extremely pleased with the performance of this machine.
