I bought this a couple of weeks to replace an old Hoover carpet cleaner that was it in its last leg. I did a bit of research and came across the SmartWash. I like that it was compact in view of moving to a small 1 condo in the Bay Area where space is premium. Additionally, that all the parts could be clean with ease, especially the carpet rollers which my old one you really could not easily remove. Anyway, I purchased it and was really impressed at the ease of use and also that it perfectly removed old stains in the apartment unit I had moved in and told the rental lease office. One thing I was hesitant was so negative reviews in terms of ability to lift stains, etc. I can only advise you is to go slow and let the machine do the driving, rushing the job will not

I bought this product earlier this month and am so excited I did. My carpet is 24 years old and has had numerous pets run through it over the years. I have tried to clean it as often as possible but it was beginning to look dull and old. I had several spots that no matter how many times I cleaned them, they wouldn't come up. The day after my machine came in I started to clean 1 room a day, as I am unable to do the whole house at one time anymore. I was amazed at how clean it came out. It looked like it did when it was new. The spots that hadn't come out before came out. I only wish I had taken a before and after picture.
