Love this machine! Have several large area rugs and 4 dogs. I wash the area rugs every 1-2 weeks to keep them fresh. One rug I inherited from my brother was dark brown and after 3 washes discovered it is beige! W_O_W .. my brother was a smoker and never washed the rug...

I bought this a week ago and I love it. It is easy to use and it makes the carpet look like it was professionally cleaned. It dries fast. It is easy to release the nozzle to clean the cleaner brushes. It is easy to clean the stairs and upholstery. Best carpet cleaner I have used. The hose is long enough to do 10 stairs. Hoover did it right on making this carpet cleaner. We have 2 dogs and it really got the dirt and dog hair out of the carpet. Thank you Hoover.

With two dogs, I make fairly heavy use of a carpet cleaner. Had one that worked OK but required almost complete disassembly and assembly every time I used it. Surfing the TV, I came across an infomercial for this one and decided to give it a try. Couldn't be more pleased. I can store it with cleaner and fresh water in place so all I have to do is plug it in. It gets our the worst stains and various treasures that the dogs leave for me. Clean up is simple - empty the dirty water and rinse the nozzle. Excellent product - highly recommended.

It's been about 2-3 weeks since I've had my machine. I had a competitor machine that broke within one year. With 4 dogs, one being incontinent and one being a pup still training, and a 5 year old running around I find the need to always clean the rugs. It does a beautiful job and took out stains that were set in from before I even bought the house. Better yet, it's so easy to use that it's nothing for me to take it out after work and do the entire first floor right after work, on an every other day basis. It's light enough that the 5 year old takes it out and puts it away. Dries VERY well and even took ink out of my sofa from a pen the puppy got ahold of in the morning. I will NEVER use another brand cleaner again!

Bought this to replace my 25 year old Hoover. I planned to use it for carpeting and to clean my microfiber sectional sofa. While I appreciate how easy it is to usr, how clean it got my carpets, AND it picked up A LOT of pet hair that my Dyson vacuum missed, it puts out waaaaay too much water and solution. With my old Hoover my carpets would be dry in about 2 hours, but with the Smartwash, it took nearly 6 hours for them to dry!! I followed the instructions to the letter using the 'Dry Only' feature and going over the area for several minutes but all it got me was a still mostly wet carpet and a sore shoulder. I did dilute the solution so it would produce less suds which helped solve that problem but I still don't like how much water it puts out causing carpets to be overly wet and for way too long. Also tried it on my sofa, which was the main reason for buying it, but unless the surface is completely flat (like a floor) the water just rolls off because the arms, back, and cushions are rounded. I have had it cleaned professionally in the past but it was so expensive I was really looking forward to being able to do it myself and save a lot of money at the same time.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Auto Mix feature precisely mixes and dispenses solution for optimal carpet washing. Fill the Solution Tank with Hoover® Cleaning Solution to the top of the tank (do not add water). For best results, rinse the carpet with clean water only. This will remove suds and residual carpet cleaning solution from your carpets. To Rinse with clean water only, remove the Solution Tank and continue pushing forward to clean and pulling back to dry.
For full suction to address extra water and damp carpet it is important that the Dirty Water Tank Lid is securely in place. If misplaced, poor to no suction will result. When your cleaning is complete and you want to reduce the dry time, press the Dry Only button. The Dry Only mode will extract remaining water from your carpet. Continue in this mode until little water is visibly passing through the nozzle.
To ensure the upholstery tool is not leaking confirm all connections are securely in place. How to Attach the Hose: Open Hose Connection Port. Insert hose end by inserting FIRMLY into Hose Solution Port How to Attach the Tools: To ensure maximum performance and to protect your carpet, be sure to place the handle in the upright position while using the hose. Placing the handle in the upright position shuts off the FlexForce™ PowerBrushes. We recommend to avoid damage to wood and laminate flooring and avoid potential slipping hazard to move to a hard surface and place unit on an absorbent material (such as a towel) to soak up drips.
