Gets the job done

Loved th smart wash carpet cleaner having small dogs and children this has been a lifesaver. It has totally saved my dog mom life and has made cleaning up after then so easy and with no hassle. The 2 in 1 pet tool is a big plus for me! The removable power brushes and easy to clean is also another thing I love about this device.I have received so many compliments about this smart wash carpet cleaner because I proudly show everyone and tell them how awesome this is for us. Our home is almost all carpet and this vacuum does it all! No matter what type of floors you have in your home this is the vacuum for you! You can even clean your sofas with it! My carpets and rugs are so much cleaner and I can always count on the smart wash to clean up whenever an accidental spill occurs.

I purchased this and liked some things but disliked others, so ultimately wound up returning it. The footprint for surface area that is covered for cleaning is great. The concept of push forward to wash and pull back to dry is great. I only tried it out on low to extremely low pile rugs. Issues I had were that randomly the two brushes would randomly lock up and stop turning on the push forward. I would have to turn off the machine and turn it back on to get them to work again. I wish there was an indicator light when the dirty-water tank is almost full because once it is full, the machine goes into super suction mode, with ramp-up in the noise level. Once in that super suction mode, there is something on the bottom of the machine that left dark grey marks on the carpeting. The marks seemed to eventually get cleaned out, but that was more water, more detergent and time in addition to the mess I was already trying to clean. Though the unit is generally easy to take apart to clean, it was really hard to clean out the gunk that accumulates around those clear teeth in the front inside of the clear nozzle for the upright, I also thought the plastic connectors to put the front nozzle on and off was a bit flimsy and could see it breaking with time. Another thing I wished is that instead of having the machine default into wash mode when you turn it on, I wish it defaulted to 'dry' only, and then you pushed the button to switch it to cleaning mode, to just cover those times when you have to jockey the vacuum into position a bit (with the power on) before you settle in to clean. The directions say that after you finish cleaning, switch to dry mode to dry the carpet further, and this is very important to do, because it's kind of difficult to appreciate just how much/little water is being put down on a push forward cycle. There were some sections of carpet that I pushed fast over but there was more water there than I'd expected. I will probably check back on your 2nd or 3rd generation of this product. Hoover is onto a good idea.

I've had the Smartwash for about a year now and no matter how many times I use it I still can't get over how easy, lightweight and powerful it is! With three dogs it's not easy to keep the carpet clean and instead of renting a heavy awkward machine I pull this baby out whenever I want. It's paid for itself!

ordered machine, came quickly, and was so easy to put together and use right away. Machine feels like it is self propelled forward and easy to pull back and carpet dries quickly. I Had old pet stains and had tried to get out in past without success. After using this machine, the carpet looks brand new... amazing!

As with many other reviews--I bought it in July 2019, worked great the first few times, but now, as other have said--NO SUCTION!! ZERO! The spot where the hose attachment goes--does not seal properly. TOTALLY NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!! VERY UNHAPPY!!!! Called the customer service department--lack of response. Emailed--no response. HORRIBLE!

Hoover Smart Wash compared to Rug Doctor Deep Clean

The Hoover is lighter & gets under things better by design. The Rug Doctor is slightly heavier duty, takes less passes to get heavy soils out. Both units are superior for home use Apples & Oranges. The Hoover really helps cleaning it up after the job with quick removal brushes, the clean out is easier & faster. The Rug Doctor has to go to the tub and washed out from the bottom, harder to extract built up pet hair in the guide bar and the business area where the roller is. And worse, it's easy to get water hosed up into the motor area. Overall both are great machines, the Hoover is a newer design and wins because it is more "user friendly"...
