A big piece of junk...DO NOT waste your money.

I purchased this machine in 2020. Used it once and thought it did a great job. About 6 months later, I attempted to use it again, and it would not dispense water or cleaning solution. I called Hoover and after troubleshooting, they agreed to send me a new machine. I received the new unit and used it to clean my carpets. 6 months later I again wanted to clean carpets and once again, the machine would not dispense any water or solution. Contacted customer support again, and they sent me my THIRD machine, which I received in May of 2022. I used it to clean carpets and stairs. Then put it away. It is not the middle of November 2022, 6 months later. I wanted to clean carpets for thanksgiving, took the machine out, and lo and behold, the third machine is now doing the same thing,...will not dispense any water or cleaning solution. I attempted to contact customer service. One page of the instruction book says they are open until 7pm EST, while another page says they are open until 6pm EST. Since it was only 4:30p EST, I should have had no problem getting through. However, the answering machine said the offices are open until 5pm EST, and even though it was only 4:30p, it said the offices are closed and to go online to chat with customer service until 7pm. So I went online, and the chat function says no agents are available and to look for other methods of contacting customer service. I previously had confidence in Hoover as a brand, but having gone through THREE machines that were used only once, plus the inability to reach customer service during normal business hours, either by phone or online chat, has totally reversed my feelings about the company and the products they provide. If you only plan to clean your carpets once, by all means, purchase this machine. Just be aware you will only get to use it once, and it will costs you $230 to do that one cleaning job. Cheaper to go outside and hire a professional to do it. I, on the other hand, will keep trying to reach customer service to obtain my FOURTH machine in 2 years.

Dry feature doesn't heat and doesn't dry at all!

Sure it cleans well but don't count on it drying anything with heat or otherwise. It leaves the carpet very wet for days without a fan or heat source. I was very excited to purchase and use however, at this point I may return it. I've followed every direction to a T. As an engineer and director of quality who supplies plastic components for this item I know it inside and out.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Upholstery cleaner doesn't work

The machine itself works great, however, I tried using the upholstery attachment for the first time and it does not prime, it just drips water for a second and then stops.

I've owned this machine for little over two years now and overall it's been great but there was one issue I had about six months into owning it with the dry only button and I was frustrated but Hoover was awesome about it and sent me a box and return label so they could see the problem and fix it. Not only did they send me a brand new machine, they also sent me my old one fixed and restored! This machine does an amazing job and it's much lighter to push than the older previous models. It takes a little bit getting used to it at first since it operates differently than older models. Once you get used to it, it's easy. One complaint I have is it's a pain having to remove the small cleaning solution container and setting it aside for rinsing with water only. (Note: be sure to place it upside down or it will leak cleaning solution all over the floor) Not a deal breaker but I hope with future models there can be a switch to use clean water only for rinsing. One thing I will stress that helps is to clean out the machine good after every cleaning! With this model it is easy to remove the brushes and the plastic covering them. I've always been impressed with Hoover carpet cleaning machines (I've owned older models in the past)
