I have a toddler and a dog. Needless to say this carpet cleaner is AMAZING! I used it at night after my baby was asleep, thinking..well if it's suppose to dry that quick this should dry before morning when baby wakes up. I had no expectation of this actually being dry the next day and it was! My entire living room carpet was dry, bone dry. This wet and dry technology is so great. Also; I hate cleaning things that clean.. but this is so easy to clean after each use. I highly recommend it! Cleans so well.

I am so thankful that I went ahead and bought this. I was getting my house ready for the kids that were coming for Christmas. The carpet was awful because my dog had bladder cancer and really ruined the carpet before she died. I tried my old carpet cleaner and even rented one of those big, heavy monsters and it still looked bad. When I finished using the SmartWash my carpet almost looked new. I am really pleased with the results.

I bought this model to replace an older Hoover spin scrub v-tunnel cleaner I have. Since my daughter constantly wants to use it and I have to beg her to bring it back, I am giving her the older one. The new SmartWash is very easy to use. No selecting between wash and rinse and the brushes make the carpet look really nice when done. The extraction feature is great and carpet dries in a very short time. The difference in the new model and the old one is slight. The old one has bigger tanks requiring less frequent filling/emptying. The new model doesn't "sling" soap and water beyond the cleaner head. Both have a long cord and both do a wonderful job. I've had the older model for about 15 years and it's still going strong; and it gets used! I hope this new one lasts as long (but it won't be traveling back and forth between two households!). Both models are excellent home cleaners. I haven't had to hire anyone or rent a cleaner in a very long time. It's nice to have a carpet cleaner at your convenience and that does a great job. I also recently purchased a vacuum to replace a 15 year old Kenmore model. That will be a separate review.

I chose this model because I wanted a cheaper alternative. I moved into my newly built home in March. This is the first time I've cleaned the carpets. I have 7 year old, 2 dogs and a cat. After using the machine on my beige carpets, I am pretty pleased. Walked in drink stains and old tracked in mud came up with ease and my carpets look new. Why am I not completely pleased? After one pass cleaning, one pass rinsing (as the instructions advise), and one pass suction only (to speed drying time, as instructed), the carpets were still not clean. The water sucked up into the water tank was still dark grey with muck from the carpet. However, carpets do look clean and they do smell fresh, so - I would recommend this machine. I will also share that I plan on investing in a deep cleaning machine soon and maybe washing the carpets more frequently from now on.
