A lot to like about this carpet cleaner. Easy to use and clean. We bought it in May of 2020 and the motor died last week. Should I purchase this same model again? I probably will because weighing the cost vs convenience and performance make it a good value to me.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I read a lot of reviews on this product. It had a pretty high rating on consumer reports, so I went for it. My advice so far is to read the simple instructions. Keep your machine as clean and dry as possible. It takes quite a bit of work to clean it, but I can't imagine putting it away dirty and expecting the machine to last. A simple rinse and laying the parts out to dry is what the manual recommends. It easy to maneuver and does an excellent job cleaning. Depending on how dirty your carpet is, you will want to stop and clean out any debris midway through cleaning, even if the dirty tank isn't quite full. Drying the carpets goes much faster if you use the dry only mode until not much water is pulled up. I do wish the parts were made of sturdier plastic. It seems like some of the parts could easily break and don't quite fit snug together. It doesn't use a ton of cleaner. The sample it came with cleaned one bedroom and our living room.

I have owned carpet cleaners for years bother Hoover and BISSELL. What I like about this is the brush roll and that it's SUPER easy to clean. I like the large opening on the dirty water reservoir to dump and clean it without getting dirty dog water all over me. What I hate is that there's no trigger on this to control where the cleaner goes, I realize that's the feature of the machine. Sometimes, there's an area on the floor that needs extra cleaner. This machine has no control for that, not even a shot button for extra cleaner. I would not recommend this for people with pets. As soon as Hoover makes a model with this super awesome brush roll set up, the large opening on the for dirty water tank for dumping, separate water and cleaning solution reservoirs, AND a cleaning solution trigger I would instantly purchase. I do like the dry only button. For now, I have to keep a spray bottle with water/cleaning solution to spray areas that need extra cleaning. I also think a rinse only option would be great. The old spin scrubs had that and it was awesome! But the brushes on those were very difficult clean. I give this a B-. Close to perfect but not quite. Fix not being able to control the cleaning solution dispersal and you have a winner.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Our variety of carpets and mats cleaned well, stuborn stains needed further treatment (we did not pre treat). Pleased me made this purchase!

I have purchased a different brand for 50 years. My last shampooer only lasted 3 years and I was not real happy with it but figured it was doing its job. Since it only lasted a few years I decided to try this Hoover. I have never owned a Hoover product before. We live in farm country. My first try was this morning. I could not believe the dirt and even left over sand it took out of the carpet. Every timed I emptied the water I kept saying look at all that sand it picked up! I am one happy camper. It's easy to use. I have arthritis and had no issues at all. I only had to empty the return tank twice. My old one I had to empty it 5 times. It's nice not having to hold a trigger. You won't be sorry you purchased this machine.

Broke immediately, terrible customer service

We used this vacuum once on our area rug and the plastic piece that holds the front cap on broke after 2 minutes of use. The build quality on this vacuum is terrible with very small, cheap plastic pieces holding it together. Tried to contact customer service by phone and chat multiple times and it stated that the offices were closed, even though I clearly contacted them during their own stated business hours. We then contacted their parent company, who stated that sometimes when Hoover receives too many calls they close the phone lines. Are you are just avoiding customers who spent hard earned money on your poorly built products? Will never buy Hoover products again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
