Seems to clean well but Very Plastic. already malfunctioned.

This is the first carpet cleaner I have ever purchased. I always had a cleaner come. The machine seems to clean well. Takes some practice. However, the components are very plastic and do not seem durable. They look as though they will crack easily. Also, the connections to the attachments are flimsy. There is a bobber in the tank that already malfunctioned several times. It caused the water suction to stop. I googled videos and was able to fix it. I decided to keep it, since it will only be used occasionally, but I'm going to be very careful with it and not let anyone borrow it. I did rinse after washing, so I am going to be curious to see whether or not the cleaner residue will attract dirt and cause the carpet to get dirty more quickly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I received this as a gift and was so impressed with how easy it was to use and how clean it got my carpets. Having a dog that tracks dirt in from outside the SmartWash is ideal to even do a quick clean up without having to shampoo everything. Thanks Hoover!

I am so glad that I purchase this new updated carpet cleaner. I love all the new features, no pulling a trigger, just forward to clean, pull back to pick up the dirty water. It also has an automatic soap dispenser so no guessing or mixing the water and soap. All the containers lift of easily to refill or dump the dirty water. Plus the top front lifts off and on so you can clean the brushes. This is a fantastic carpet cleaner thats priced reasonably, I would recommended this to all my friends. And by the way I am a 68 year old women so that shows how easy it is to operate.

I got this and must say I am very happy I love the fact that it has a long 22 foot cord that makes it very easy for me to navigate around the corners and curves in my big house I love that it is a push for it to wash and bring back to dry that makes it easier to walk and not make footsteps it's clean the floor it does very good I have three animals and it's always easy for cleaning up the messes and it even helps with the animal smell I love mines

Us consumers get a little disillusioned these days with false claims on so many advertised products on TV. I have to say, however, this new Hoover SmartWash Carpet Cleaner is amazing! Not too difficult to take out of box, put together in less than 15 min, and using it within 30 min of removing from box. 3 tanks: warm water, cleaning solution, and dirty water tank are incredibly easy to use. The Wet/Dry feature works perfect (and a DRY ONLY button helps additionally). Clean up is a breeze. Because the cleaning solution is a separate tank, any unused cleaner goes back into the main cleaner bottle (not down the drain). Also, being able to remove rotating brushes for an after-carpet-cleaning debris removal is a fantastic design element. This has never been so easy on previous machines. All in all 5-Stars to Hoover -- brilliantly designed, easy-to-use, and a breeze to clean up after finished!
