I bought this cleaner about a month ago and I finally used it, it is amazing!!! We had our carpets professionally cleaned and honestly my carpets look a lot nicer and cleaner doing it myself with this machine. Well worth the money, absolutely love it, highly recommended.

Dry feature doesn't heat and doesn't dry at all!

Sure it cleans well but don't count on it drying anything with heat or otherwise. It leaves the carpet very wet for days without a fan or heat source. I was very excited to purchase and use however, at this point I may return it. I've followed every direction to a T. As an engineer and director of quality who supplies plastic components for this item I know it inside and out.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I just bought the Hoover SmartWash carpet cleaner and I absolutely love it! I am a 71 year-old widow and found it easy to handle and follow instructions. However, the machine is labelled so nicely it was easy to see how to use, attach, remove, replace and clean all the parts. My house has all wall-to-wall carpeting throughout 5 big rooms as well as two large area rugs and I found it so easy to clean them all! The hardest part was moving the furniture by myself! They recommend not going over any area more than 4 times as it might get too wet (follow their 'tips'). I found washing (forward movement) and drying (pulling back) a section at a time once was enough to clean my carpets, although I did go over a few areas twice. No need to go over any area many times. I could not believe the dirty water tank! Yuck! But it gave me instant satisfaction that my carpets were getting cleaned. For optimum performance, I found emptying the dirty water tank frequently, before it got too full, worked the best. And I love the "only dry" feature! Using this will considerably cut drying time! I found I could walk on my carpets within a few hours and even less when I used a fan! I've had my carpets professionally cleaned before but my dog had an allergic reaction to their solution. Not with the SmartWash Free and Clean product though! No chemical smell and no reaction! Yay! I also rinsed all my carpets after washing them one section at a time, which is recommended to remove any solution residue. A bit more work but worth it! Hoover, you have made a brilliant machine! More than just "smart"! I just love my clean carpets! I can't say enough about this fabulous product except..Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!!! A super happy customer!!!

I bought this machine this evening. I cleaned the broadloom in the great rom. It's 19 years old. I looks brand new. Easy to use. Easy to clean. I could not be more satisfied with this product. There's a reason Hoover has been in business for years, and most people know this brand. I am sold for life.

I just bought this carpet cleaner last night, ABSOLUTELY LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, IT!!! It does a fabulous job, extremely easy to use, assemble, & it is very easy to clean the the nozzle & brushes.
