[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] No need to pull a trigger and the two brushes get more junk. The dry only feature helps for quicker drying time. The solution tank lasts a long time on one fill. My one pet peeve is the capture tank isn't hands free and the pieces come completely apart so you have to line them back up and get your hands dirty to empty it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second one in 5 years. Pro's and Con's... I use this machine almost on a daily basis. I love the low profile, ease of cleaning the brushes, suction is good and it is light weight. What I don't like and needs improvement. They leak somewhere when not in use, the soap mixes with clean water some how? (why bother separate) I have had this one about a month and the screws on the dirty water lid are already rusting. Use a non corrosive screw or other way of attaching but must be as secure. The front attachment doesn't stay seated tight... But still the low profile, good suction and light weight are what matter to me .

In the the DIY wet-vac carpet cleaner category, this model from Hoover is a winner. Well designed and easy use, with automatic motion sensing forward-wet backward-dry cycles, it does a good job of cleaning any kind of carpet. The parts are easy to take off and snap back on after cleaning. We use it once every couple of months with the Hoover cleaning liquid that is easily available online and in stores.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have only had this for three years. It didn't work right from the beginning, but I worked at it and it would work, then bedtime it does the same thing, it won't dry! I have only used it 4 times! Called service rep ad said I needed a receipt for the warranty , but I can't find it. Guess I am out of luck! I did send in the warranty card at the time of the purchase, but I guess that doesn't matter!

Needs improvement

I have owned carpet cleaners for years bother Hoover and BISSELL. What I like about this is the brush roll and that it's SUPER easy to clean. I like the large opening on the dirty water reservoir to dump and clean it without getting dirty dog water all over me. What I hate is that there's no trigger on this to control where the cleaner goes, I realize that's the feature of the machine. Sometimes, there's an area on the floor that needs extra cleaner. This machine has no control for that, not even a shot button for extra cleaner. I would not recommend this for people with pets. As soon as Hoover makes a model with this super awesome brush roll set up, the large opening on the for dirty water tank for dumping, separate water and cleaning solution reservoirs, AND a cleaning solution trigger I would instantly purchase. I do like the dry only button. For now, I have to keep a spray bottle with water/cleaning solution to spray areas that need extra cleaning. I also think a rinse only option would be great. The old spin scrubs had that and it was awesome! But the brushes on those were very difficult clean. I give this a B-. Close to perfect but not quite. Fix not being able to control the cleaning solution dispersal and you have a winner.

Nozzle release broke on second use

I bought the SmartWash for my daughter's birthday because it was so highly rated. She used it once and loved it so much that I borrowed it to clean the bedroom carpet. When I went to clean it after using it one of the plastic tabs on the nozzle release broke and now the nozzle can't be reattached. I can't get a replacement part for this which seems crazy for such a fragile piece of plastic. It doesn't matter how well it cleans if it breaks after the second use and can't be fixed.
