Purchased this without checking specs. Big mistake. As it only holds 1gal, You have to stop and refill it every 10 minutes. If you really want a good maching make sure you purchase on that is 2 gals.

I just bought this and I love it. I hope it holds up. This makes my 4th Hoover Carpet cleaner in the past 10 years. They cleaners do very well they just dont hold up. Many parts are made of plastic and break. I hope this cleaner holds up because it is so easy to use and light weight.

Today I received my Hoover SmartWash, it was simple to put together and simple to use. My house is not big so I cleaned 3 rooms in a matter of an hour or less. It's like vacuuming that simple. One of my rooms was used for my pets so imagine the stains omg I wish I did a before and after that room looks like it has new carpeting. I absolutely love this machine well worth the money and would recommend it to anyone with carpeting!!!!!!

I didn't think I needed my own carpet washer, but after seeing how easy and effective the SmartWash is, it's a new must-have. I usually rent a carpet cleaner from the home improvement store - which is a hassle and the washer usually looks pretty nasty - every year or so. The SmartWash changes all that - I can clean more frequently, and it's easy. The autoclean feature works really well - it automatically throws down the solution when you push forward,then sucks it up when you pull the washer back. Super effective, and it looks like the washer was designed with fast clean up in mind.

I HAVE HAD AT LEAST 3 OTHER HOOVER STEAM VAC'S OVER THE YEARS. THE SMART WASH IS THE BEST OF THE LOT. IT'S EZ TO OPERATE, THE WATER SUCTION IS WHAT SET'S THIS MACHINE APART FROM THE OTHERS. THE GREATER THE SUCTION THE FASTER YOUR CARPET WILL DRY!!

Yesterday a SmartWash delivered. Tried it. 1. Carpet soaked with water. 2. To dry it I had to turn off cleaner, pushed it and that turn it on to repest drying. And did this procedure FOUR TIMESS. Waste of time.

Purchased this about a month ago and found it to do an amazing job! It cleaned better than Anything I've ever used and the concept of rinse after is visibly a plus and worthy to a mention of how easy it is. I'll bet the carpets will stay clean longer too because of it. It's worth the little extra money you'll give for it.

The 3rd time I used it, it quit sucking up the water. Now I have a sopping carpet and no way to remove the water. Now I may have to rent an emergency machine. I checked all the connections too. Nothing is loose and nothing is stopped up in the vacuum area. :(

Hi Alice S, We recommend a couple troubleshooting tips to get you back on track with Hoover SmartWash Automatic Cleaning Technology. Please ensure the Removable Recovery Nozzle is properly secured before cleaning your carpet, if misplaced poor to no suction will result. Once a connection is made, continue using dry strokes until little water is visible passing through the nozzle. We also recommend clearing the Screen Filter within the Dirty Water/Recovery Tank of any debris.
